I am a return guest every year...whenever I am in Canton Schwyz. Great food. Friendly staff. Yesterday I had lunch there alone (normally I go with my family or business guests who'd like to experience a rural Swiss restaurant with great food, fair prices and be treated in a welcoming manner). The family who runs it is also helpful when making suggestions for activities. It was a busy time when I arrived and they still found a spot for me. It is best to phone and reserve ahead of time. There are always meat, fish, and some vegetarian dishes as well as rosti (a Swiss specialty with grated potatoes and very filling) in the winter months.
There is a majestic view coming into Lauerz. Go on a sunny day and you will be in awe. The restaurant, which also has bright, clean, basic rooms at a very reasonable rate, is located just a 4min walk from the lake and a short drive from several local ski mountains, the Tierpark (lovely deer park in Goldau), the knife factory outlet shop and the chocolate factory outlet shop. It is best to go there by car. I am not sure how frequent the bus is there.
There is a church across the road (the restaurant's windows are soundproof so you don't hear the bells unless you are outside the restaurant) and peaceful walking paths. Remember to take your camera!

AS a foreign visitor from Thailand, where eating out is more the 'norm' than a special and unique occasion, visiting this restaurant for the first time was a very pleasant and unique experience because it was in a perceived 'typical' Swiss countryside with breath-taking views. Obvious the elements of hospitality was present, i.e. the ambience of the environment, the food and the service. I was very happy and satisfied with all three. There is always something 'special' about a family business. It should be like the blood and the essence of the family culture running through the 'veins' of the operations. This was what I felt. I would not say that I am easy to pleased, in terms of 'hospitality' services, being an academician teaching hospitality in an institution that is linked to the French Institution "VATEL". I was taken there by a local friend and colleague and as usual her judgement was unfailing. My host recommended the 'local fare' which I can't even pronounce, but I left the table happy with my taste-buds well satisfied. I would readily recommend this place and myself to return again. Not actually the "George V" in Paris where I have also eaten, but great for a country-side family enterprise. One thing about family run restaurants and hotels, you don't walk into an 'establishment', but into a 'home', and the staff are not all 'hired-labour', or professional technocrats, but consist also of family members. So there is of course a sense of pride in what they do, as well as how they are treated.
As an academician I like to analyze and evaluate "evaluations". Based on past TripAdvisor reviews, there were 38 reviews in the category of "very good and excellent", compared to "zero for poor, and one for terrible". I would say the objective conclusion is close to "excellent".
This visit was obviously prior to the "corvid-19 era" which means mid last year, and not this year. However, the selections does not allow for "pre-Corvid-19" time-frame selection. Why am I writing now, because when Switzerland "opens-up" again next year, and when I also plan to return, I hope this family business make a well-earned recovery.

The welcome was so friendly, you immediately felt welcome. The service really very friendly, accommodating and hospitable.
The food is very good, with fresh vegetables. The trout is recommended.
Very happy to come back. Also the restaurant and the gardening very nice.

The restaurant will give you an impression of a “factory” and you are one of their unimportant guests. The owner’s wife of the restaurant is very unfriendly, even rude. If you want to feel unwelcomed - this is the place to go!
Completely spoiled evening/time/money for us unfortunately. We suggest to avoid this place.

We came to this restaurant to have an afternoon coffee on the terrace. Unfortunately the terrace is not on the lake-side. The cappuccino was fine and the service seemed friendly.

We were travelling around Lake Lauerz with our camper van, with the e-bikes mounted on the rear carrier. At that time, all the campsites in the region were occupied, so we looked for an e-bike charging station. We found one at the farm and were able to charge our removed batteries outside, thanks to friendly and understanding staff. However, the manager had little understanding for this and she doesn't seem to understand how e-bikes work. The corresponding comment was disappointing for us after we had eaten and drunk there in the afternoon for around CHF 70. We won't charge our batteries there that quickly again. What a pity.

This gem is located on Lake Lauerz. Everything seems to be new. The welcome was very warm and the table for two people that was assigned to us was very spacious. The restaurant is very nice inside. However, the noise level is a little too much when it is full.
The menu offers a good selection of fine dishes from our latitudes. The choice is not easy, especially since fondue and raclette specialties are also offered (winter menu).
We opted for a starter salad and cordon bleu with vegetables and croquettes. Everything came in pleasant portions and was very tasty. The dessert that followed was also very good.
The service is very friendly and attentive. The prices are quite reasonable for what is on offer. We would happily recommend this restaurant.

After a long time, we went for lunch again.
Menu: Bouillon with pancakes, a crispy fresh salad and chicken breast with a creamy mushroom sauce.
Was excellent and the price/performance ratio (CHF 18) was more than reasonable.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended!

Very attentive, friendly service. Fine food in a cozy, quiet atmosphere. Absolutely good value for money!
We were personally greeted by the host upon arrival and personally bid farewell by the hostess.
I have eaten there several times and have been extremely satisfied every time.

The cordon bleu is fantastic with ham and Swiss cheese. The hamburger is also very good. Good atmosphere in the restaurant. I wonder why there is no veal cordon bleu on offer. Very friendly service. Small, inexpensive wine list. We will be back.
