As myself and my partner were driving around, we decided to make a pit stop and have a cheeky little look at the menu and decided to book for later on that evening. Once we had ordered our drinks at the bar, we then decided to make our choice of meal and decided to go for fish, chips and peas... More

Arrived around 12.30 for an unbooked lunch today (Wednesday 24th August). The overspill car park was in heavy use, almost no room inside and the garden very full - but the staff were never too busy to be helpful. We were warned there would be a 45-minute wait for our orders to be served but they arrived in less than... More

We visit here at least once a month, absolutely love it, we had our first date here a year ago so it has a special place in our lives, can honestly say every meal we have had here has been lovely, even when they have been busy and stretched the service is always attentive. We often have the steak and... More

Visited on a Wednesday in August after seeing the pub in passing the previous day. Glad we booked as the indoors filled up quite quickly (not sure about outside) and overheard that there was a 40 minute wait for food not long after we had ordered. Service very good, my starter came very quickly, nicely presented if a slightly smaller... More

Lovely food served promptly. Great atmosphere and reasonably priced. We found it by accident and were really impressed.

We arrived about 5.30pm, there was 17 of us, we were told they couldn't cater for us inside but we were welcome to the garden, the weather was great so that was fine. We all ordered our food which arrived in good time. Out of 17 meals no one complained every meal was hot and delicious, as were deserts. Staff... More

Booked a table for 2 at 7pm. Was a lovely sunny day so was very busy. When we ordered food the lady said it would be an hour wait as a very large table had just ordered ahead of us. The food only took half an hour to arrive so we were very pleased! I had garlic mushrooms to start... More

After a New Forest walk on a beautiful day we needed refreshment and decided to return again to the Green Dragon A simple lunch from their "smaller" menu accompanied by a pint was served quickly in the garden. Much enjoyed by us both.

Excellent pub location in the Forest just off the M27; excellent selection of ales and ciders; excellent food choices at reasonable prices; and now the but... We were a medium sized group who ordered our food in advance but changed a few disses on the night before anything was cooked. The restaurant manager was beyond rude and really put a... More

Dear Sjc997 Thankyou for your comments and we are sorry that although you commented on excellent selection of food ,ales and ciders you felt your experience was somewhat diminished. I have spoken to all the team who were working on the particular evening and they have confirmed that unfortunately the dishes had been pre ordered and in fact were in... More

Description
The Green Dragon dates from the 15th century. It was originally premises for a wheelwright and a coffin maker, then became a beer house some 200 years ago.

Set in a delightful rural setting, the pub overlooks a stream which is spanned by a humped-backed bridge. During the summer months ponies and donkeys can be seen shading on the forecourt of the Inn.

The Pub displays a number of 'bends' of leather, which bear imprints of hot iron brands. These brands represent owners of animals who have commoners rights to allow their livestock to graze on New Forest Land.

To the rear of the pub is a small patio area that leads to our garden, which is a wonderful place to sit and relax in the summer.

Why not come in and enjoy a pint of one of our four cask ales? These ales change all the time so keep an eye out for your favourites.

We are a dog friendly pub although we do ask that you keep them on leads at all times. We do not allow dogs in the restaurant, this keeps one part of the pub a dog free area.
