We visited this pub as it looked welcoming from the outside and was a nice location in the forest. However, the landlady/manageress was unwelcoming, and insisted we sit on a table laid for two which was ight at the back of the pub,no one else there, whereas in the main area it seemed alot better, more people and a nice atmosphere. Her... More

Friendly staff, great food. Was our first meal in England and was a great experience. My sister and I brought our mom here for a vacation/birthday trip. She loved it.

The first impressions is that the Green Dragon is a clean and tidy pub on the outskirts of the New Forest. There are a good range of real ales and wine, along with other drinks. The staff are friendly, the Landlady and Landlord are also though slightly reserved, the pub appears to be reasonably well run. The prices are standard... More

We had pre-booked our visit and were allowed parking during our walk of some 3.5 miles. We ordered our meals before our walk and on our return our tables were reserved for us in a side room. After we settled down with our drinks the food arrived and very good and most welcome it was. I think our whole party... More

Lovely summers evening, thought we'd try the Green Dragon, expectation was high, lovely sounding menu, with almost too many things too chose from, including a Specials board. So we ordered, and were informed of a 45 minute wait, fine, so another drink and olives were ordered. 1 hour later our order finally arrived ..... Very disappointing, my partner ordered the... More

We have been eating at the green Dragon for many years and have always recommended it and rated it five stars. We ate there a few weeks ago and it was not up to standard but we put that down to maybe the chef had a night off. We ate there again last night and realised that many things had... More

We had a very nice meal in this lovely pub and our dogs were made welcome too. We were staying in the forest and this pub was nice and close with a large car park and outdoor area.

I've visited this pub/restaurant many times and I've always come away happy. The staff were very accommodating for our 7 month old child, and the food was excellent. I had a burger and my wife had fish and chips. Both were excellent. Highly recommended if you're in the area. If it's a nice day the garden is really nice.

Description
The Green Dragon dates from the 15th century. It was originally premises for a wheelwright and a coffin maker, then became a beer house some 200 years ago.

Set in a delightful rural setting, the pub overlooks a stream which is spanned by a humped-backed bridge. During the summer months ponies and donkeys can be seen shading on the forecourt of the Inn.

The Pub displays a number of 'bends' of leather, which bear imprints of hot iron brands. These brands represent owners of animals who have commoners rights to allow their livestock to graze on New Forest Land.

To the rear of the pub is a small patio area that leads to our garden, which is a wonderful place to sit and relax in the summer.

Why not come in and enjoy a pint of one of our four cask ales? These ales change all the time so keep an eye out for your favourites.

We are a dog friendly pub although we do ask that you keep them on leads at all times. We do not allow dogs in the restaurant, this keeps one part of the pub a dog free area.
