Called in with friends for a pre-booked table for Sunday lunch in September and were warmly welcomed by the bar staff. Good selection of Wadworth's beer, kept very well, and tasting good. Variety of pub food on the menu as well as normal Sunday roasts. We all had nice food with no complaints. We were impressed by the friendly staff... More

Popped in on a Sunday lunch after long dog walk, no tables we didn't book do sat outside, our fault so fine. Menu looked good for a Sunday if a bit pricey! But as fully booked expected it to be a top notch it wasn't! Arrived quickly so must have been prepared long before, only 2 slices of tough beef,... More

Recently visited the green dragon with my partner after hearing such good reviews only to be disappointed. Positives about the review, the pub was nice and has a nice atmosphere, staff are friendly but that's about it. I had the chicken and mushroom special but let me tell you there was nothing special about it, pastry undercooked, raw vegetables and... More

We go to The Green Dragon pub fairly regularly with friends as we love the pies, but all the food seems very good. There's a large garden at the back away from traffic noise and a large car park so parking has not been an issue. I think the pub may have changed hands recently and we were concerned that... More

ExWent there early May, my meal was delicious, well presented, lovely cooked food. Delicious. Went there today, gross, lamb was all fat! Which I never eat. The veg was raw, and the five lumps of gravy in a watery liquid wasn't exactly the best I have had. To top it all off, the whole meal was slopped in a pile... More

Dear TattybogleWiltshire We are so sorry that you were so disappointed with your meal . It seems that there was an issue with the lamb that was supplied by our local butcher on this occasion, That is no excuse for you to be so unhappy with your meal which obviously was not up to our normal excellent standard. If you... More

Chose this pub for its convenience to the M27 as my friend was coming from Reading way. Lovely ambience to this typical New Forest pub, very friendly attentive staff, good food, we had the fish and chips which was divine but it's on the expensive side at £11.95, would definitely visit again and maybe try the lighter bites but wanted... Had drinks and a meal Friday 28th Oct 16 a late lunchtime, (14:00). Very nice and friendly bar staff, Ordered food which turned up promptly(they were quite quiet customer wise at the time. One person had ham egg and chips, all okay except chips only just warm. Another had fish and chips, again chips looked nice but not hot and... More

We visit the New Forest at least twice a year and have always driven past the Green Dragon on each visit. On our way home last week we stopped in for lunch and were very impressed. The food was excellent and staff very polite and friendly. A varied menu and a good selection of beers on offer. We will definitely... More

Description
The Green Dragon dates from the 15th century. It was originally premises for a wheelwright and a coffin maker, then became a beer house some 200 years ago.

Set in a delightful rural setting, the pub overlooks a stream which is spanned by a humped-backed bridge. During the summer months ponies and donkeys can be seen shading on the forecourt of the Inn.

The Pub displays a number of 'bends' of leather, which bear imprints of hot iron brands. These brands represent owners of animals who have commoners rights to allow their livestock to graze on New Forest Land.

To the rear of the pub is a small patio area that leads to our garden, which is a wonderful place to sit and relax in the summer.

Why not come in and enjoy a pint of one of our four cask ales? These ales change all the time so keep an eye out for your favourites.

We are a dog friendly pub although we do ask that you keep them on leads at all times. We do not allow dogs in the restaurant, this keeps one part of the pub a dog free area.
