stopped in and got a cup to go but had to wait because its all a pour over place and waited for the understaffed place to pour enough water through to get a cup. Good coffee but not a place if you just want to get a cup and go.

The Java House is the place to go in Iowa City for coffee and interaction. I call the reviewt David and Goliath because for many years the Java House so successfully dominated the Iowa City coffee scene that Starbucks couldn't break in until the early 2000s, long after Starbucks had almost taken over cities like Chicago. There's a reason, too.... More

Java House is my preferred coffee shop whenever possible. They have good quality coffee. They offer many choices including fair trade coffees. It's a great place to study, chat, read, or just grab a cup and go. They sell their day old baked goods at half price. But they go fast, so go early.

This is one classy place to sit down and get some good coffee, I actually scheduled a meet up there with some other photographers! the atmosphere is amazing, I was shocked at how much space they had with more than enough tables for everyone. A variety of coffee to choose from the expresso's are delicious.... and I love a place... More

There are tons of tables to spread out and do homework or catch up on email in downtown Iowa City. Good coffee, treats, and tea keep you hydrated and awake for those long homework assignments.

We stopped here to have a business conversation and found a cozy table while we enjoyed our coffee and tea. It is a neat old building that has lots of seating options in case you want to talk or just read or work by yourself. It's obviously a trendy place in downtown Iowa City with lots of students and faculty.

This is the coolest coffee bar I've ever seen. You order the kind of coffee you want and they put those fresh grounds in a cone in a row of cones. They put your cup underneath and tell you to just take out when you have enough. Then they pour hot water over the grounds and the coffee comes into... More

Excellent St Louis Blues coffee and Republic Chai tea. All their pastries and breakfast bowls are delish.
