Delicious!

We had a great experience having lunch here with family. Everyone enjoyed their selections. The food and service were excellent.

Christmas Day Dinner

Had a lovely dinner. Oyster shooter with sake and quail egg! The New Wave roll in rice paper with tuna and vegetables was delicious.

Pretty Tasteless

Maybe I have been spoiled by living in the Bay Area, but my husband and I were severely disappointed by the food at the Red Ginger. Beginning with my Saki -- poor quality. The miso soup tasted more like chicken soup stock (not dashi/fish stock)...with tiny pieces of soya, and almost no seaweed. I got a bento box -- but where were the pickled vegetables or seaweed salad? I choose salmon something -- they gave me chicken. And the tuna in the sushi rolls had little texture-- almost like it had been put through a grinder instead of minced by hand. My husband's meal was completely undistinguished, instantly forgettable. Nice, Easy Food

In a bit of a rush, but was very hungry. We really enjoyed the food. Pokey Bowl, Chicken Katsu & Special fried Chicken were all enjoyed by my family. We all left the restaurant feeling very full - and with a doggy bag in tow....Portions were very generous, drinks flowing and staff very attentive. Nice place to eat.More

Yummy Sushi!

We really enjoy sushi and the newest Red Ginger is a good place to go for great sushi. Red Ginger is light and bright and nicely furnished. We were seated right away, our server, Amy, took good care of us, beverages brought immediately. The menu...is very large. We ordered a Las Vegas Roll, 11.95, and a French Kiss Roll, 11.95. Both were beautifully created and so delicious. We will definitely go back, and soon.More

Sunday, December 23rd visit.

My wife and I visited this Red Ginger around 6:30pm on Sunday, December 23rd. It is located in the building at the corner of South Gilbert St, and Hwy 6 East, Iowa City. This was our first visit to Red Ginger. It was fairly busy...when we arrived. We were seated right away and our server took very good care of us. My wife and I shared a Sushi plate, along with an appetizer of Crab Rangoons. The Crab Rangoons, along with the Sushi, were delicious. We had a very nice visit and plan on returning to try something else.More
