I had heard about the restaurant and get their humus at Costco and went with outsized expectations. The food was average, the meats were dry and cold and the baba ganoush was turning sour. We recently had a party with fifteen people and didn't want to cook. We ordered catering from Oasis and it was wonderful! We had chicken shawarma, falafel, vegetables, and a variety of sides. Everyone loved it. Ofer was so responsive and great to work with....The food arrived exactly on time, fresh, and ready to serve. They even included paper tags with names and ingredients. Highly recommend and plan to order again in the future!More

After going to Oasis Falafel the other night I asked why there is no longer sold tzatziki sauce the falafels and I asked adult waitress why and then a 10 year old girl explain to me that it is a Greek it is not a...Greek restaurant but Mediterranean after being told that is a Mediterranean restaurant none of the toppings that usually go on but I was told a cucumber and a cabbage salad I for one will never go to Oasis Falafel again they were rude unhelpful and just plain hoity-toityMore

I visited on dec 8 around 7 pm with my friends and family after 1 year and this will my last visit to oasis. It appears like things have changed a lot and gotten worse. Initially when I came in and was standing in line...to order. While I was waiting to order a person who had ordered before came in to request something and he was so rude to him and after he went he shaked his head and also was muttering something which I could figure out was something not very nice. When My number came and even before I could say anything he said rudely “it is going to take 20 minutes do you want to order or not”. I should have just walked out that time but since I was on my family and friends I just decided to go ahead and order.Waiting for 20 minutes without a problem but the rude behavior was a big problem.Since we are waiting for food my son who is 2 1/2 year-old was sitting and bumping his legs on the bench he was sitting. Suddenly out of the blue the same person on The counter yelled “ Can you stop doing this, it is bothering me”.He yelled to the point that everybody in the restaurant and all the staff could hear it. At that pointI was done and I told my wife and my friends that we should cancel our order and should go But since they were hungry and we were already waiting for 10 minutes they decided to stay. Our mood was already spoiled. After food came which was OK, We just walked out after eating quickly as we really didn’t want it to stay there anymore. During all this process none of the other staff members even came to correct him or Even tell him How he was behaving And yelling. If a staff member has guts to yell and behave like that in front of all the other staff members and everyone then that means that he’s not even afraid of getting reported to the manager or the owner and this is the environment which is usually there.i Think they should also put a sign board in the front saying that kids not allowed. It used to be such a nice place to visit but not anymore. i will not recommend Oasis to anyone.More
I normally think the Oasis pretty fast. This time we waited over 35 minutes before our food came. They weren’t that busy.
Naftaly and Ofer have created an Iowa City gem in Oasis Falafel. All their food is fantastic, but their Hummus is truly the best you will ever eat. My children are now Hummus snobs and compare every other Hummus to Oasis Hummus as the standard...of excellence.More
I usually came here to get falafel. Its quite crush and tasteful. Overall, this restaurant serves fresh Mediterranean food. They also serve great frilled chicken.
The flavors Oasis is able to bring to Iowa are Amaze-Balls! The fries are thick, delicious, yet crispy. They have a hot sauce that is great on anything you want to add some spice, I definitely would stop here even if you are not sure...what you want because anything you get is absolutely delicious.More
This restaurant serves great Mediterranean food, reasonably priced, with lots of choices. This is a vegetarian-friendly place.
In what world do you have to wait 15 minutes for hummus, falafel and a bit of salad in a box? Did they grow the chickpeas? And then the box was half empty, just a tiny bit of boring salad, a tablespoon and a half...of hummus, and okay falafel balls. A VERY dry and disappointing meal - for 9 dollars, no less! Got takeout for a large group of folks from out of town. For the first time ever, I have to say I was disappointed. Identically ordered sandwiches were very different. Everything was cold. One sandwich was missing.
There are plenty of great places to eat in Iowa City, and so far this is my favorite. I had the grilled vegetable pita sandwich.
If you like freshly made hummus, and pita bread, etc. shish kabobs and baba ganoush, then go here! Helpful staff, small dining space, but worth it. Near the campus...
