Spectacular NYC-style Chinese take out food, right down to the mind boggling affordable prices. This is the stuff I grew up with, and if we had one where we live out West, I'd order every other day. Egg Fu Yong is the stuff of legend, with huge chunks of roast pork and vegs, and thankfully with the gravy on the side (I prefer potsticker sauce over it). Massive sausage filled wontons in the Wonton Soup, and fantastic hand made Fried Dumplings. They check every single box on Chinese food that I love. I hate you Iowa City...

The staff is friendly and cooperative. Food didn't take too long and was fresh as it can be. Really impressed at their way of preventing covid by constructing a plastic barrier between the customers and staff. Overall would definitely come again.

The portions are large and the food is delicious. Highly recommended. Service was fast. I have enjoyed each menu item I have tried.

The portions are substantial. However, the quality of the food is poor. The ginger chicken was made with dark meat and not white meat. As was the Kung pow chicken. There was so much breading. It was hard to find the meat. The Kung pow sauce is not very good at all.Definitely go somewhere else if you want good Chinese food. I wish I would’ve given you half as much but good quality ingredients in it.

I am willing to give this place another try but my lunch today was mediocre. I ordered veggies with rice. Tofu was an extra dollar. I asked them to make the food spicy but it was pretty bland and tasteless - although the broccoli was decent. The bright spot was the crab rangoon - crispy and quite good, although much sweeter than any I have eaten before.
I also felt like a nuisance when I picked up my food (it was ready on time after I ordered online). Either the woman was having a bad day or she doesn't like her job. Not friendly at all.

Ordered good variety for family dinner gathering. Food was good overall. The scallion pancakes are yunny. General Tso's is good. Broccoli chicken was one of the favorites. Portions were generous. Restaurant looks clean and well-lit. Parking was easy.

The best I can say about this restaurant is that it's clean. And inexpensive. The food is fresh, but utterly lacks flavor.

This is our favorite Chinese place in Iowa City. They always prepare their food fresh and often throw in free "scallion pancakes" with orders. Their Singapore Mei Fun, Mongolian Beef, and Szechuan Chicken are excellent. These are our go-to dishes if we cannot decide what to get.
The prices are reasonable and you can also eat in if you prefer, although we usually order ahead and pick up our food to go.

Very good food, and plenty of it. Portions are huge, enough for a couple meals. Place is clean, staff is nice. We'll definitely be back and recommend it.

Ordered 2 meals via web for takeout and an order of crab rangoons. The food was ready to go when I got there and was hot at home. The meals were good sized, (ordered the bigger portions) and both were under $10, beef and broccoli, and Szechuan chicken. Enough for second meals the next day. Both were good, liked the flavor of the rangoons, the Szechuan Chicken was a little less spicy than I would have liked.

A filling lunch Special...and I had chicken with mushrooms, plus beef with broccoli and fried rice and a drink all for $6. A bit more corn starch than necessary in the sauce. Good however.

There's nothing fancy about this place except its super clean and the food is exceptional.. HUGE two entree lunch special for $5.50 including a soda. Friendly staff as well..

The good.... decent flavors for what menu was designed to be, (see The bad for explanation), reasonable prices, excellent staff, immaculately clean.
The bad... only my opinion, but it was only traditional overly Americanized Chinese food. No real punch on spice when asked for extra spicy. Sauces seemed overly sweet. Spoke with the wait staff, this was by design for their clientele base. Just to re-emphisize, the food was good, just not what I was hoping for.
The cute... excellent knife work on the fish made from a carrot!
meal was friend dumplings, Dragon & Phoenix, and white rice.

I was looking for a quick place to grab take out as I headed from work to my hotel. Long Xing seemed like a good place to stop.
My first impression upon walking in was how clean the place looked. I was greeted at the counter by a nice young lady who took my order. I got garlic pork and an egg roll. One small complaint. I was the only one there. I felt the preparation of the food took longer than it should. However, the food was still hot when I got to my hotel room. Oh, and it was really good, too!
Prices are very reasonable. Bottled water for 80 cents? Not sure how many they sell, but they are easily leaving 20 cents per bottle on the table.
Plenty of food. Good food. Reasonable prices. Clean surroundings. What more do you need?
