This is a classic Des Moines restaurant. Been around for years and has endured because it is a good restaurant. Clientele includes many senior citizens. Not a particularly "hip" please, but good ol' fine dining. Food is excellent. Service is good. Prices are reasonable. A good choice for a quiet night on the town.

Our daughter took us here for our anniversary and what a treat! Large variety of dishes including Italian, pizza, steaks, and sandwiches just to name a few. Onion rings were thinking and melt in your mouth. We had very good prime rib, walleye, and pasta. All good! Love the bread and homemade dressing. Friendly wait staff.

This was a nice family restaurant. Italian food was wonderful. I especially enjoyed my chicken parmigiana (sp). Great atmosphere and staff was wonderful.

A large family group made reservations to celebrate a concert performance. The food was very good and they had a wide selection to choose from making it easy for everyone to make a choice they really liked.

I opted for takeout and a simple burger. It's was the Rarebit Burger and apparently new on their menu. The patty was your run-of-the-mill pre-made patty and had no flavor. The bun was nice. Rarebit sauce lacked flavor as well. Though I was provided a generous amount. I'll give it another go and try another menu item sometime.

This place's steak is probably top 3 in town. The ambiance is very formal and low lit and is nice. We've had one bad experience in the 20 time we've eaten here. Many good dishes to choose from. Kids plates could be more kid friendly as they are usually seasoned for adults.

I have been here many times and its about expectations. I usually come on Mondays to get a prime rib special sandwich. This time I had the French dip which was a great treat with real roast beef on a crusty piece of French bread. My friends had the pan fried chicken and were very pleased. My other friends had... We have been here for a banquet each year for the past several years. Each time the staff has been very helpful. The food is good for a banquet situations, but not has hot as it should be.

OK, let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, all over Des Moines, there were family-owned, family-run Italian restaurants, where you were greeted and seated as family, where the meals tasted like Mama was in the kitchen, where the staff treated each other kindly ("Would you do me a favor?" "Could you please?"), where the drinks were perfect,... More

Had a group dinner here after a business open house. We had 16 people so we were a large group. The service was all you can hope for with a large group and the food was all perfect. Great wine selection and the Italian sausage in my entre was one of the best I have ever tasted and spicy and... More
