This place was filthy. Nothing has been cleaned in years. Crust on the table. They only give one a fork, no spoon or knife. Chips were salty ,salsa bland from a can. Very bad service. They gave me an order without the salad, the enchiladas were not what I had ordered. The food was bland, over cooked, brown and cheesy.... More

I hadn't been to El Patio in years, and I wondered how it had survived the influx of Mexican Restaurants over the past several years. We went on a Tuesday evening with a large party, and none of us were disappointed. Brook and his family continue to serve good Mexican fare, and they provide great service.

I am not sure why this place has been open for all the years it has been in business. I swear they use artificial cheese and the sauces are not that good. Service is pretty much like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. Not a fan. Sorry.

Salsa is tick but flavorless. Black bean salsa good. Bill reickart dish good. Delish chips. Margarita disappointed.

I'll start with the positives. I love the ambiance of this place. It's an old house and there's a nice open-air patio out back for when the weather is nice. The margaritas are also very good - a requirement for a Mexican place in my mind. As for the negatives, the food is pretty average. It's not bad, just not... More

I used to live up the street from el Patio, and have been eating there for decades. It's a fantastic restaurant in an old house, tastefully decorated with artwork that will have you convinced you are in Santa Fe. The food is always hot, fresh, and plentiful. One of my favorite dishes is the "Reicharito", named after Bill Reichardt, a... More

A friend and I went here for lunch. We got there around 12 noon. We sat inside because it was bit too hot to sit outside. We did see the patio when we pulled in and it looked beautiful with all the flowers and umbrella coverings. We ordered off a lunch menu which had many options and none of them... More

Very disappointed for the first time going. The service was odd. I believe the chips were tostinos from a bag. They use the same shell for a chimi and burrito . Food was bland. Took one bite and could not finish it. Also over priced. Will definitely not be returning.

We have not eaten at this restaurant for many years, but liked it years past. We were just in Des Moines driving down Ingersoll Avenue, and decided to have dinner there. We were seated on the outside patio which is surrounded on three sides by veritable walls of potted and hanging flowers. A humming bird even visited the flowers near... More
