good pizza

Very good pizza. We ordered ahead and picked up a couple of pizzas. By the time we got to the restaurant, the pizzas were just out of the oven. After the holidays, it was very crowded but the staff wasn't frazzled.

We went a couple weeks ago... I had a steak and fries. The steak should have been medium, it was well. Had to send it back because it was tough and dry. By the time I got it back my husband had already finished his prime rib and then had to watch me eat after I watched him for 20... More

It sounds like we weren't at our best, and I'm so sorry that you had such a frustrating experience. We're usually very careful about cooking your meal exactly the way you like it -- I'll definitely follow up with the kitchen about this. I really hope that your next visit is up to our usual standard. Thanks, James, Owner More

Ate here once because it's a Des Moines staple, but I wasn't that impressed. Haven't been back. Menu was impressive but quality was just okay and too pricey for okay food. Not sure if I'd return.

Casey, I'm disappointed we didn't live up to expectations -- we always want to deliver on our reputation as a Des Moines staple. We usually serve high-quality, tasty dishes, but it sounds like we were having a bit of an off night. I hope you'll give us another chance in the future to show you what we're all about. Thanks,... We hadn't been to Noah's in years, and were pleased we recently stopped in for dinner. There is a nice sized parking lot next door. While old, the restaurant still looks good--both inside and out. The tables are spaced well and everything felt clean and organized. The greater was prompt and polite, and we thought service throughout the meal was... More

Thanks so much for stopping by, friend! I'm glad our Italian fare really impressed (and you can't forget about that bread!). I hope to see you again soon! Until then, James, Owner More

I read a negative review that said, "The food was ok, but the place looks and feels like something out of the Frank Sinatra days." I'll have to give Noah's Ark 5 stars partly because of that very reason. Nothing wrong with a restaurant that still has class. The main reason why I am giving Noah's 5 stars is the... More

We had a part of eight with excellent service. I often have the chicken wings dinner, as I did this time, and it was very good.

I have been going to Noah's Ark for years, the food is very good, the thin pizza is great, the inside brings back the 70's and 80's look, the service is good, great place to eat!!

We arrived for a late lunch. We were greeted warmly, although the servers were probably tired from a long lunch shift. The special lunch menu had a great deal of variety. I chose the crab stuffed fish filet. Wow! Also had the 3 layer lemon cake with lemon custard. It might have been even better. A very good value for... More

Visited Noah's Ark for a friend's birthday dinner. Amoungst the party were adults and small children. The restaurant does take reservations, allowing us to be seated the moment we walked in. The building itself is this cute, older establishment with swinging front doors. The food itself is not so appealing. My husband and others around me ordered the Prime Rib... More

Andrea, I'm really disappointed that our food didn't hit the mark for you. We use high-quality ingredients, and take a lot of care into cooking your dishes to perfection, but it sounds like we dropped the ball when your party was with us. I hope you can give us another chance to show you what Noah's is really made of.... More

Noah's is a cultural landmark. It's been in town so long, that just about everyone's heard of it. Thankfully, it's reputation for food is good as well. If you're looking for a large menu of Americana with an Italian focus, come here. The food is good, and the atmosphere just lends itself to chatting with friends.

A cultural landmark, Jason,? That's such a huge compliment that I'm speechless. All I can say is that it's an honor to be a part of this community, and I'm looking forward to many more years together. Take care, James - Owner More
