We stopped in for supper on a Thursday evening. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table. The restaurant has a comforting decor and an intimate feel. Our server was friendly and efficient. She gave us ample time to look at the menu and...assisted us with our choices. My wife had a salmon chowder that was ample sized and full of flavor for her first course. I had an organic mixed salad with a blueberry vinaigrette. Also delicious. My wife selected the seafood pasta for her entree and was delighted with the flavorful mixture of the Alfredo sauce with a variety of seafood. I chose the blackened tuna served on a waffle with an egg and greens on top accompanied by a white spicy sauce on the side. An amazing symphony of flavors when tasted together. My only disappointment of the evening was the fried that came with my entree. They were ok, but I would have preferred something more tasty and equivalent to the other excellent food served. Desert was Creme Brûlée for me and a Salted Caramel Chocolate Lava cake for my wife. Both were delicious. The restaurant suggests reservations and I would recommend it. The place filled up nicely on a Thursday. We enjoyed our experience very much and look forward to the chance to dine again.More

The food is extraordinary. At this time, because of health issues, we had to order curbside pickup. Excellent service, very understanding and accommodating to our needs. We have eaten here over the years and always leave impressed with a smile.

Had curbside pickup. Exceeded our expectations! We heard that the Pasta Rubaiyat has been on the menu the longest, and now we know why! Amazing! The Mahi-mahi and shrimp scampi were immediate fan favorites. The bread smelled so delicious and garlicy, I could hardly wait...to tear into it...so good! Finished with peanut butter chocolate cake and lemon berry cheesecake which were wonderful! Paired with a fantastic wine chosen by Kim. Will definitely be back!More

Under quarantine, my husband and I have twice dined from Rubaiyat this month. Yesterday morning I called in our order of prime rib, baked potato, green beans, and Caesar salad for Scout. I chose the sweet and sour chicken with peppers and onions and gnocchi,...the wedge salad, and bread. Scout picked up our dinners at 4:30 pm and we proceeded to demolish the prime rib (minus the horseradish sauce) and the salads. The bread is consistently good and topped with garlic butter and parmesan cheese. The savory wedge salad came with creamy dressing, bacon bits, diced tomato, and thin-sliced hardboiled egg. I had a few bites of the sweet and sour chicken and saved it for an excellent lunch for two today. We also split the baked potato with butter and sour cream. For dessert we enjoyed small glasses of Rubaiyat's Amana Colonies root beer.More

Went expecting nice meal and prepared to spend a little more. Service was ok no complaints, menue is a little short of basic fare but I new that before hand. I had the house salad with blue cheese dressing and it was good, ordered veal...parm. and when they brought it I was quite pleased look very good. I should have stopped right there, the first bite was like a tough cheap cubed steak full of grissel. Not a cheap resturant and I would recomend going somewhere else . Dinner for two $65, never again!!More

This was my first time at Rubaiyat's. My sister and I went here for some QT together. We started with delicious drinks. I had the pear martini and she had a moscow mule. They come in large cups- thank goodness because they're so good!!! Our...server was Matthew. His enthusiasm and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We tried the Duck Bruschetta for an appetizer. I can't even describe all the amazing flavors in this dish. We also had soup/salad and then the garlic scallops and shrimp for dinner. This seafood was sooooo good. (I had just returned from a Carribean cruise and the seafood at Rubaiyats was probably better than what I had on the cruise!!) We were stuffed but got the peanut butter chocolate dessert to go. It was a good choice. I must also say thanks to Kim and Andy for their great hospitality!!! This place is a must!More

One of my favorite restaurants in Iowa. World class menu and cuisine. Who knew a town of this size turned out a restaurant like Rubaiyat?? Also fun to sit at the bar and have dinner since they have once again allowed full menu service there....Great local craft beer selection. Best wine menu within 90 miles.More

Dinner for 6 - 2 generations ---- something for everyone on the menu. Enjoyed the featured wine (both white and ready) - both were very nice; thanks for the recommendation. Hummus of the day was fabulous. 4 had the soup - and all said it...was delicious. 2 had the blue cheese wedge salad - loved it! All 6 entrees were wonderful! Filet, bacon-wrapped turkey, swordfish.......all were raved about. Chicken Carabona - OK (a bit dry). 3 desserts - wonderful!! Very good service. Will DEFINITELY go again!!! Just became our favorite resturant in Decorah.More

Celebrating our anniversary (again) here. We always come back to dine again at this fabulous restaurant. This time we brought another couple to dine with us and they agree, simply fabulous. This really made our day, since we had a flat tire (ran over a...nail or something) and since we had reservations here for dinner, we did a temporary self-repair on the tire and drove to Rubaiyat. We then called AAA road service to get a permanent fix or tire replacement. AAA service never arrived but the charming owner/hostess Kim offered to help us get it done. So nice of her to offer even though they were extremely busy she still stopped by our table a few times to wish us well. The appetizers orders of rice paper wrapped shrimp and artichoke dip with naan bread were great treats in getting us started. The dinner entrees here are so good and expertly prepared. I had the Mediterranean Swordfish - perfectly accompanied by artichoke, feta cheese, kalamata olives, onion, roasted tomato and white wine olive oil on a bed of wild rice. So delicious! My pre-dinner dirty gin martini was perfect as was my two glasses of Carignan wine with dinner. The desserts from the creme brulee to the three berry tart with ice cream were simply fabulous. Ambiance is wonderful with six or more servers working in harmony to provide excellent table service. Many thanks to owners Kim and Andy for making our evening very special helping us forget our flat tire issue for a couple hours of fun dining. Until next time friends!More
