Disappointed .. I used to live in Davenport and loved coming to this restaurant - So w a business trip to Davenport I took my boss for dinner at the Thunder Bay - Arrived - no one greeted us - we stood at the hostess...stand for a bit until the bartender saw us and yelled “there are people up front “ A lady came out and then seated us . Server was nice but never mentioned the “special “‘of which we later saw posted in the lobby - my boss and I both said “shoot we would ordered that “ My boss’ crab stuffed shrimp was served on a bed of Brussels sprouts - the sprouts had a very strong odor plus tasted “soured “ - inedible and we both tried ! We reported to the server - she offered a baked potatoe - my boss declined as by this time the shrimp was eaten . We expected the server would take a few dollars off the $35 entree - no such thing was offered . She did mention “I will have the kitchen check into this “ ! It’s the little things - maybe a gesture of a free dessert for my boss would have been nice if $$ was not an option to credit us . Sometimes one must think — they got my money today but w no offer of some type of compensation / no manager apology … they will not get my money or referral moving forward . What did that “spoiled Brussel sprout “ actually cost them in lost business ? As now I am posting my experience and now others will know too . Take care of the customer before they leave !!More

Rolled into town in a Sunday early afternoon and had the buffet! The food was very good! The service could have been better. Words of advice, don’t seat older people or families with kids so far begin the buffet (especially if there are tables in...between).More

My husband and I were extremely disappointed in the flow of service and the response from the general manager about our experience. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:30pm. There were 4 tables in the establishment. We ordered appetizers, wine, salads and steaks. My husband's...Ribeye came out but my 6 Oz filet was not ready. They brought me the veggies I ordered that were cold by the time my med-rare steak arrived. It was 15 min from the time my husband received his food before mine arrived to the table. He had finished his meal. When my steak arrived it was cooked nicely but the parmesan crusted PASTY potatoes were cold and unappetizing. I would not recommend spending your hard earned money at this establishment.More

While working in the area I seen this place and thought it never looks busy when I go by but decided to try it. Went for dinner and was impressed with building / decor / waitstaff / and food. Took my brother in law and...he ordered a steak and I ordered the cedar planked salmon dish also we had a appetizer, the bruschetta which was delicious. Brother in law said it was the best steak he ever had and my dish was top notch as well. Service was good and price acceptable for quality of food, definitely will go back. I also had a dessert, carrot cake which I actually didn’t care for thought it was to dense. I would definitely recommend to travelers running thru that want a good meal.More

Wasn’t what we had hoped for and expected. Ordered “jumbo” crab cakes and hubby had the _all you can eat _ fish fry. The crab cakes were two tasteless and thin little cakes with a small spot of thousand island like dressing. Not enough to...even use on one of the “pucks”. The so called accompanying Cole slaw was limp and lacked any taste. My husband’s fish was decent - nothing to rave about- just ordinary. The waiter never came to ask if he wanted more fish…. They did replace the blah crab cakes with stuffed mushrooms. Did charge us for it though. Waiter didn’t seem to be too happy to be there, right from the get go. All in all, pretty disappointing.More

Came here on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend for dinner. We were staying at the hotel across the street and I have been to the Thunder Bay Grille in Pewaukee, WI so I assumed it would be similar. We requested a booth and were...told that there was one booth available but the server in that section was too busy so we had to sit at a table. This was disappointing that they couldn't just let the server we got serve us at our preference of a booth. Complimentary bread was very tasty. I had the filet mignon with parmesan potatoes and it was good. It also came with a salad which was good. Our server was pleasant as well.More

Was just perfect. Welcoming, clean, comfortable, and polite staff. Midwest formal. Offerings were anything from burgers, lots of kids options, and I enjoyed a beautiful salmon salad. One of the few restraunts I've been to in awhile that still bring bread before the meal. And...we got to dine on a nice patio that did not overlook a street. Sever and all staff there were so nice and polite. Food was very good. Well be there again!More

Lesson learned. Don’t go on Sunday and/or Father’s Day. The brunch is the only offering, no ordering off the menu. The brunch may be plentiful, however it is not worth $25/person and of mediocre, at best, quality. Not sure where the positive reviews came from,...but definitely off their game this day; thank goodness for DQ.More

We were in the area for one day and spent the night in Davenport. We had never been to this restaurant and my daughter is vegetarian. We called and the person was very friendly and advised they had the impossible burger. We were thrilled and...came to the restaurant from our hotel. It is not easy to find vegetarian options that are not salads ect. Once we got there we were seated right away and the waitress was really nice. I explained to her that we were really thirsty as we had been running around all day and she was very attentive with refills. The bread they bring to the table was great had a hint of garlic. Then, we ordered the mushroom appetizer which was amazing. Then, my daughter got her impossible burger and I got the regular burger with fries both were great! Everything was really clean in the restaurant and our server was awesome. Since my daughter will be going to college in the area we are so excited to find a sit down restaurant for future visits!.... We are happy to return for sure!More

Visiting the area and thought we’d try this restaurant. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. There were very few people in the restaurant for lunch when we stopped in on Wednesday noon. Waited for at least a half hour for food. My husband ordered tortilla...soup. It was mushy and over cooked. I ordered the edamame salad. It was very bland No oriental flavors that I could detect.More

Honestly, I've never been more disappointed in a visit to Thunder Bay as I was this past Mother's Day. First rattle out of the box they couldn't find the reservation my daughter had made; only to find it under a misspelling of the name.....okay I...get it, it happens. We get sat down and the waitress asks if we want something to drink and we say coffee....oh, I'm sorry, says the waitress, our coffee maker stopped working and we don't have coffee. Very disappointing but okay I get it. So we go up to the "Advertised" Mimosa Bar....I see a champagne fountain but where's the rest of the fixings? Stop our waitress and ask her; come to find out it's not a mimosa bar it's just the champagne and you have to buy a glass of orange juice if you want mimosas....NOT AT ALL WHAT WAS ADVERTISED ON LINE. Also asked where the Omelet Bar was that was advertised and was told, "well we can make you an omelet if you want"....yes we did want until we got it back and cut into it only to have liquid run out of the middle of the omelet. Then as we are sitting there eating we see other people are drinking out of coffee cups and sure enough they were drinking.....COFFEE. Not once did out waitress come and ask us if we wanted coffee as they now OBVIOUSLY have coffee. We did not say anything because at this point i was pretty much DONE. For $28.00 a plate.....SERIOUSLY.....you all can do better than that. Needless to say I doubt that I will be back at least to this one here in the Quad Cities. Which is too bad because I believe they have a very nice restaurant and have had better experiences with them in the past.More
