Eat, Drink & Friends!

This is a favorite hangout for locals. Always make you feel welcome. Great food and drinks. Reasonably priced. Lots of room for groups. We always feel welcome at Barleys and always run into someone you know. Good times if you just want to sit and have a good time drinking, eating and talking. Even if you come alone, you always feel welcome. Apple pie shots are a favorite as well as Frosty Jack's. Burgers, chicken, pizza all yummy. Parking in front is usually congested, but go around back and there is plenty of parking a they have a back door to come in.

Fun spot

Fun spot, nice bar and good food. The bartender Julian was very friendly and attentive ( young ladies, go check him out. He's hot). I had a special of spinach salad with strawberries and shrimp. It was delicious. My husband was in the mood for a BLT which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Great Food - Great People!

This weeks local support was for Barleys. They never disappoint - and the owner and staff there are top notch. They got about the best burgers in town. And the Thai pizza is really good as well.

Solid Choice with Great Food

I live a few blocks away and eat here often. Love the Greek Salad and I have NEVER had a bad meal. A few years ago the food was good. Now it’s great. See for yourself.

I love this place. I go once every week. I often have the Greek Salad with Gyro. The wings are good. All their burgers are good. They are also active in supporting the community.

Great onion rings!

Had a great order of onion rings and burgers. I had the burger made like a Rueben - the corned beef and home made dressing were incredible. Husband had a double burger between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Tried several local brews and they were very well done. Nice patio for views of lovely historic buildings and spacious seating for groups. * Disclaimer- photos are of our leftovers. The servings are huge and reasonably priced.

Good Pizza, Great Service

I recently read a review of Barley's in our local paper and decided to travel from Omaha to Council Bluffs to give them a try. My wife and I have visited twice and both visits were very good. Barley's is actually two bars in one. There is the large main bar/seating area which was packed on both of our visits. The other bar is smaller and had parties going on on both of our visits. Both areas are very nice. On both visits we sat at the bar which is quite long. The servers were great and made sure our night was pleasant. On our second visit, we decided to try the pizza. The pizza was very good and tasty. The pizza comes in three sizes and the prices were very reasonable. The menu also includes a good selection of your typical pub fare-burgers, sandwiches and plenty of appetizers. They have about 30 beers on tap and a large selection of liquor behind the bar. Many of the taps were Iowa brewed beers and prices for beers were also quite reasonable. If you're not quite hungry enough for a full meal, there is a popcorn machine serving fresh popped popcorn for free. While sitting at the bar I notice that the staff new many of the customers buy first name so they must have a dedicated crowd of regulars. If Barley's was closer to my home I'd be a regular customer. As mentioned before, they were quite busy on both of our visits. I was really impressed with how hard the staff hustled to keep things moving. We were never without a drink and our pizza was served quickly. Great service! We will be back!!

Great Rings

Barleys is a great neighborhood bar with an extensive selection of local beers on tap for a decent price. Their burgers are great. What I really enjoy are the pizza rolls and onion rings. The rings are marinated in buffalo sauce to provide a little extra tang. The pizza rolls are large and filled with deliciousness. It's a great place to meet up with friends.

Excellent Bar and Grill

We are here often - service and food is always great. Sitting inside can be noisy when they're busy, but we prefer to sit outside when we can anyway so usually not a problem. On our last visit we brought our dog and she was happy as well (special order of fries just for her). If you go, try the Arnold sandwich or their wings. Beers on tap are great (and cold).

Good salad and sandwich

Stopped by after visiting the Kanesville Tabernacle for some dinner before looking for a hotel. The salad I had had was delicious (the blue cheese dressing was really good) and my husband club sandwich was also very good.

We love this place! We go there often, they have great happy hour specials and really great bar food. They have pizza eggrolls that are a must have guilty pleasure! They do a variety of burgers as well.

First time - won't be the last!

I had lunch at Barley's today for the first time and I was very pleased. The menu was very extensive with salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, a salad bar and appetizers. I had the chicken hawk sandwich and it was freaking delicious! Absolute perfection! The fries were done perfectly as well. The only bad thing I can say was the ketchup tasted generic and not good. Other than that I have no complaints. Service was friendly and quick - oh and the bathrooms were super clean. I will definitely be going back the first chance I get.

Fun staff, great food!

Open feel with large seating areas. Seating outside too. Long bar. Great beers and drinks. Super fast bartender. Enjoyed the onion rings app. Pizza, chicken sandwich and burger were great. Pork tenderloin sandwich was just average. Really good, fun staff that work as a team.

Fantastic place! Old fashion bar setting. Great cold beer. Wife and I had lunch, had the chorizo burger and it was delicious. Wife had a salad it was fresh and very good. Cool place!!!!!
