They primarily serve Chicago Dogs, but the do have many other sandwiches. My favorite thing is their French Fries. You order at the counter and the food service is fairly fast. Just a good local place for a quick lunch.

Waited for service, then waited for 30 minutes while the rest of the customers were served. Service is poor. Food was sub par. Never going back.

This is just about the only place in Cedar Rapids where you can get a good Chicago style hot dog. They have plenty of other good stuff like gyros and Italian beef. I stick to mostly their hot dogs and gyros which are both simply delectable. The location can be a bit suspect and the inside of the restaurant isn't... More

A old gas station in the older part of Cedar Rapids specializes in hot dogs but also has everthing from Tenderloin, fish chicken and ribs I was there with 6 guys we all got something different from hot dogs to the fish everything was prepared perfect the food was hot my favorite part it all came with homemade french fries... Not a lot of fine dining in the city of 5 smells. This isn't fine dining by any means, but it's a niche place that is good. The all beef dogs are great and you can get lots of good toppings on them. The flight decor is cool and the maps are neat to look at.

Had to go here first thing after returning from Florida to have my favorite lunch, the right sampler. Tons of good dining in Panama City Beach but nothing comparable to the rib sampler.

Everybody knows about the converted gas station with the airplane on top of the building. Most people go for the hotdogs, brats and gyro, but I particularly love their rib sampler. It comes with baked beans with ample rib meat in it and their yummy French fries. Often I have too take some home with me. The sampler is 3... More

This is a place I hit for lunch every time I'm in Cedar Rapids. The Brats, dogs, and gyros are great. The fries, make it almost to much to eat.

The Flying Wienie appears to be a converted "service station/garage" with a most unusual, old-fashioned atmosphere, and there is definitely nothing fancy about it. However, their hot dogs, Italian beef, and french fries are especially excellent, as are all the items we have tried here. If you sit outside, you will get a different view of Cedar Rapids than you... More

Kitschy and eclectic, The Wienie is a C.R. Legend. Best dogs outside of Chicago and dozens of varieties and combinations. Amazing staff.
