Three strikes, you're out. What can I say? Quality of food was terrible, even the mac and cheese had to be sent back. Who messes up mac and cheese? Not a good meal. We won't be going back (hear they closed up shop anyway).

What a sad loss for the downtown district. Great food. Great selection of wine. Great owner. Great servers. One of a kind One of the best in town and one of the only places to survive the flood only to have to close bc some are too chain oriented. A constant changing menu meant creative and trained chefs always looking... More

Having never before eaten here and hearing that it will close soon, I had to try their lunch menu and see for myself why it is closing. Let me tell you folks, Cedar Rapids, Iowa is NOT Los Angeles; or Chicago or New York. Heck, even in the Caribbean you see more food. I always thought the reason people go... More

Having read that Zin's was planning to close around the end of July, another couple recently joined my wife and me for a final meal. Zin's has had a long run as a top notch downtown restaurant and will be missed. After our experience, we are uncertain whether bad service lead to its closure or its impending closure led to... Have been to Zins a number of times, always 5 stars. My last visit was less than five star. The food was OK but not great. The portions seem to have shrunk and they were very parsimonious with the sauces. Had the calamari which has always been excellent in the past - a disappointment. The scallops were very good after... Not to say this isn't a great place to eat!! People who are more adventuresome is their taste will love this place. I'm more a plain eater...meat & potatoes type. But this is elegant dining with extended menu options. Close connection to Kirkwood, so best cooks in town are on site. Try it. You'll probably love it!

First, thank you so much for your business, then, taking extra time to offer your comments! I apologize for disappointing you but appreciate your kind words all the same. We do try to speak to the "meat and potatoes bias" with our Reminisce section and a couple of our big plates. In addition, we change each of our menus frequently;... More

I had heard good things about Zins so I thought I would take my girlfriend there and check it out. All I can say is WoW! Amazing food and amazing service. Love the small plate concept or order a full meal. Our waitress (Shannon I think) was amazing! She was very familiar with the menu and did an excellent job... More

I’d heard good things about Zins. It is a lovely spot with exposed brick, high ceilings, nice art, white table cloths. Their restaurant week offerings were spare: only two salad options, two entrees, and a single dessert. I decided to go for it. I had the roasted vegetables for the salad. The chili sauce overtook the flavors of the summer... More

As disappointing as it is to read your comments, I thank you for taking the time to share your experience. That you would make the time to do so is a generous gift. If you had not taken the time, I would not know, and we would not have the opportunity to learn and improve. I can only hope you... More

Zins design is warm, welcoming, sophisticated. We bring you quality and creative food, different yet familiar, via the small-plates concept. Our state-of-the-art wine dispensing equipment allows us to offer twenty wines-by-the-glass. Our bottled-wine list is value-laden. Our beer list is compact but clever. Our mixologists enjoy crafting your drink, creative or classic, every bit as much as our culinary staff enjoys preparing your food.
