The tenderloins that hubby and I shared was overcooked. Crunchy and way too thin. The hot beef for our guest had so much gravy on it, and pepper in it that she couldn't eat it. So overall was a very disappointing dinner!

South fork Grill in Bloomfield is top notch in service and food. We were greeted by the sweetest young lady with a great big smile and a hearty hello. Our waiter Zane quickly took our order . He was very efficient , polite and a...nice young man. We were able to talk with the manager/owner and she was so pleasant and apologetic that our food was taking longer than usual due to several big outside orders and 2 large parties who arrived prior to us. She offered us a dessert on the house. We took it to go because we were so full. I had the fried chicken and the hubs a half pound REAL meat burger. The beef is raised by a local rancher and he said it was DELICIOUS! Give them a try if you are in the neighborhood. You won’t be disappointed.More
Very pleasant with good food and service. Large menu with good daily specials. Would recommend to anyone.
The hotel rooms are very roomy and there are large fridges in the rooms. The pillows are fabulous and the parking is very convenient to the rooms. There is no breakfast per SE, but was provided with a large bran muffin and coffee so that...was sufficient (the coffee was very good and hot!). We ate lunch in the cafe that adjoins the hotel and the food did not disappoint. Quality ingredients and friendly service. We appreciate a good night's sleep and excellent meals.More
We were in Bloomfield, visiting a relative. This was our first time in IA. We were told that they have good food. My husband order a King size prime rib and I order the Chicken cordon blue. My husband orders prim rib quite often, everywhere...we go- He was not impressed with the cut of meat and how it was cooked. I order the chicken cordon blue with mash potatoes and gravy on the side. I got a hard breaded deep fried crunchy chicken (when I cut it the corner of the breading just came out intact) and it had barely any ham in the middle of the chicken and it had some white gravy on top (just not my thing). I got the mash potatoes smothered on gravy. I did order a Tanqueray and tonic that was a decent drink.More
Ahhhh-mazing tenderloin! It was so big we split the order. They give you each a bun and sides when you do. My hubby said it was the best tenderloin he’s ever had! We ordered the onion strings as well and it was a huge order...and delicious. Service was good and place was clean. We will be back!More
Clean, delicious, inexpensive place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also have a full bar. Best restaurant for miles around
Not a disappointment at this restaurant in a town with limited dining options. Foods good and staff was pleasant and responsive!
We were returning after trying their tenderloin on a previous trip. We decided to test the other menu items. One of us did try the tenderloin and was not disappointed. Literally the biggest, and well prepared one such you can find. My wife ordered the...French dip sandwich. It wasn’t good. The meat was dried out which you’d think wouldn’t be possible when you are dipping it into ah jus. It was salty but that’s pretty much normal for this menu item. I had the grilled chicken breast. It was truly huge. It was also dried out and edible/ flavorful but not really very palatable. We were having a good family outing and I don’t usually send things back so I’m addressing this in this format. Seriously, if you’re doing a grilled chicken breast don’t over cook it by degrees of at least twice what would have been good. Other items were pretty good. The chicken strips were nice. The smothered rib eye was delicious and it was devoured. Salads were great and some home made dressings. A big loaf of fresh baked bread was nice; good not great. Desserts were splendid. All made in house and so creamy rich. We tried the banana cream pie. Really extraordinary. The waitress said the secret is cream. It was like silk. Another was chocolate cream pie. Again, a home run. Our waitress was really helpful and made the evening out a treat. Nice atmosphere clean and kitschy with the rural then you expect from the location. Will be back and go back to the tenderloin.More
We stopped here to pick up a sandwich and take it back to our room. Ordered a tenderloin and an extra bun as the tenderloin feeds two easily. They forgot the extra bun so I had to go back and get one. That was disappointing....The prices have increased substantially since our last visit which was a surprise. We enjoyed our sandwich but hope they don’t price themselves out of the market. They also charge 4% more if you use a credit or debit card.More
Great customer service and welcoming feeling. It was like a home away from home. Had a restaurant on site to make it more convenient
If you are wanting to go out to eat then this is basically the only choice you have so with that being said there isn't much to compare it to. Other then that food is average and the place seems clean which is extremely important.
The food is good, they make their own ranch dressing and it is delicious. The fried pickle spears are awesome! It's the best choice in town for a set down meal. Wait staff is always very friendly and on top of things.
Arrived on a Friday night about 5:30 and got seated right away. By 6:00 there were people in line. The home style food and service was good and I really have no complaints. If you order onion rings, be prepared for the Oh my gosh...reaction at your table. The plate containing the onion rings was huge and the onion rings were steeped at least 6 inches high. When the waitress brought them she acknowledged my reaction and stated that what she brought was actually the 1/2 order. The 1/2 order would have easily been enough for 6-8 people.More
The food is good here & the portions are large. The servers are friendly & the prices are reasonable.
