Still fabulous food and staff! The owners are great and always around. Large amounts of quality food and the breakfast and dinners are the best! Magic Mountain. Magic Mountain, Magic Mountain! Love this place and always will! A Quad City mainstay!!!!!

For 5 people, I paid about $109. I was told prices had dropped compared to the current menu. I paid almost double the menu price for 2 of the meals. When I confronted the staff, I was told too bad, those are the prices.

I've eaten at Ross' for decades both when living in the QC area, as well as when I return to visit family and friends. I had heard from both family and friends that the value prospect had gone down and that service was not as...it used to be, so, I wanted to see for myself. I ordered Ross' Favorite breakfast, the former #1 if you date yourself on the old menu system, and substituted Rossburger meat for the bacon/sausage choice. I found the cost to be similar to a few years ago when in town meaning that a good value. Portions seemed to be similar. In my short review of the menu, I found the costs to be in-line with my memory. So, I did not see a loss of value. Service-wise, that has changed in the past few years. The staff that was so great are no longer there, unfortunately. Perhaps retired, perhaps moved on to other things. Keep the service high to keep the customers coming in is all I would suggest.More

I have heard good things about Ross' Restaurant and I had time to kill on this Monday morning so went in for their breakfast. The time was 9:30 am and they had only a small handful of other customers. I was greeted fairly quickly and...told to pick my own seat which I did. It took a while for one of the two wait staff to come over and being the morning and sitting in a traditional old-style cafe I ordered coffee first which took ten minutes to come out to the table. I ordered one of their standard breakfast meal options from their menu and only 40 minutes later out come some very standard scrambled eggs (that looked like only 1.5 eggs instead of 2); three sausage links a bit crusty, and two pancakes which clearly had been sitting out for a while and while still warm where starting to get a bit hard on the surface (obviously sitting under a heat lamp for a while). So the food was lacking in portion size, didn't include any side dishes (maybe some toast would be good); and tasted no better than what you would get a greasy American Legion or fireman's breakfast (and actually some of them are much better). The waitress actually brought my bill (nearly $15 for coffee and a scrawny breakfast) BEFORE any of my food came out. I asked about this and she said that usually Monday's are slow so that is when they have this particular cook working who can only do one thing and order at a time and it normally takes a long time (which I guess they thought it was ok since it was Monday). Of course when the food came out the waitress dropped it at the table and went to run off to get syrup and when she came back I had to ask her if they were going to provide me with silverware to use. So to summarize, food quality was average; food portions where lacking, service was lack-luster to poor, service time from the kitchen was atrocious (especially since it was a slow period and they only had to cook three basic things....eggs, sausage and pancakes, period); and price was high for what you got. To top it all off they didn't have coins in the cash register to make change (so they got a slightly bigger tip than I had planned). My first time at Ross'; and it will be my last time. I can't image going on a busy period and having to wait to be seated to get average food that is overpriced and suffer poor service.More

Looking forward to returning to the Quad Cities. Since we moved away, we have gone through 'Ross's withdrawal ' a few times. Missing the great burgers, the Magic Mountain & most of all those fabulous late night & weekend breakfasts. See you soon. (Like tomorrow)

Only one other person in cafe but thought it was 2:30 and Covid so that would be fine. Only one person was in restaurant and had to wait for someone to come out from somewhere and seat us. He said he would be back in...a ittle bit but it was a long time and then waiter took order. When order came out it looked like a kid had cut a piece of bread and threw some meat on it. Poor presentation. we had to ask for ketsup, pepper and salt, & a small spoon. Never got a smaller spoon. Roast beef on sandwich was in such large pieces i had to cut it up and put it back on sandwich. Meat was cold. Ask for dressing on side but it came on sandwich. No coleslaw. Vegetables and meat in soup were so big I had to take them out and cut them and put them back in soup. Cheese on Magic Mountain was very bland, no onions came on it. Waiter never came back until he brought the bill and then asked if we wanted anything else. By then we just wanted to leave. Floors needed to be swept and a couple of tables were dirty. Remember- Only one other person in the place. Very disappointed. Will not be back as we only want to remember how great it used to beMore

My heart goes out for all small businesses, especially restaurants being hammered by the COVID but I will never return to this place. There were only 3 or 4 booths with customers which should have been a tip off. My friend had an omelet and...I had the chili. Worst chili (and I'm a chili lover of all kinds) I've had in a long time. I asked my friend and his omelet was "fair." Very friendly wait staff trying her heart out. The turnaround time was very slow. It's a shame because they were forced to leave a location due to the new I-74 bridge which cost them a lot of their loyal regulars. They have been in business since the 1940's. I'm sorry but this is a dying place.More

Stopped in for hamburgers and my husband got fries and I had the white cheddar mac and cheese. The hamburgers were excellent with the homemade buns. The white cheddar mac and cheese was awesome. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake with whipped cream. It...was delicious 😋. I usually don't write reviews but I felt I had to because we don't seem to support our local restaurants enough. The service was excellent 👌 too.More

We waited for 2 hours and watched people give up and leave. We should have sooner. When we finally got served it was clear some of our food had been done and gone cold. Cold waffle. Not even luke warm Mac and Cheese.

On New Year's eve 2019 after a long night of working we decided to stop by Ross's to eat before going home. The place was packed of course because it was New Year's. Once we entered another customer came up to us and told us...that there was only one cook and one waitress and that we may want to go elsewhere. But we decided to stay. There were other customers taking orders for people, serving drinks and even cooking. The manager was notified by the waitress regarding how busy it was and he told her to "figure it out". He needs to figure it out! Poor Management.More

Meh. I ordered the famous " loose meat sandwich. It was bland and boring. Sister got the big pile 'o fries with meat and gravy. It was huge, but as expected, I suppose, very greasy. About what you'd expect.

Went for lunch with my brother. Maybe 4 other customers there. My brother had the Magic Mountain. The fries were cold on it & it tasted so bad he had to add ketchup to it. He still couldn't finish it. The pop he had was...flat. It's sad to see such poor service in what use to be a great place.More

Took my mom here for a quick lunch on Black Friday. Restaurant was only 1/3 full at the noon hour yet we had to wait 30 minutes before our food was delivered. The waitress insisted that the "Pick Two" choice did not include cole slaw...and would charge me extra if I wanted it. Food finely came. Had to run, but checked the menu before leaving and saw that the "Pick Two" choice did include cole slaw (which I even verified with another waitress). No time to try to correct, so left a little distressed. This restaurant has had good reviews from others, so maybe this was just an unusual occurrence?More
