A quirky, fun spot on the channel between the Barbee lakes. Food and drink specials during the week keep lunches inexpensive and the food we've had has been good. I recommend their pizza, tacos (a buck each on Wednesdays) and hush puppies
Travelling around Barbee Lake we decided to stop for some brews and appitizers. It ended up being a good stop.
First, let me say the bar has been the same for years. It is a typical small town bar.
Now, the service was prompt. The...beer was cold. The sriracha fries were very good. The taco rolls were decent.
Our visit was on Sunday, the specials are on weekdays. Things like $2 - 20oz beers. There is even a $1 beer night.
This is a typical lake venue and we will visit again.More
The food and service are a change from the past couple years. It has the "Bar Food" type menu with good flavor in the burgers! The hand breaded tenderloin was awesome too! We like the no kid factor so we can relax, smoke and not...have to worry about it being a bar where things/talk happen that kids should not be around anyway...Good place to visit!!More
We like this place mostly because can boat to it. Families used to be able to dine inside, but now it's outside only - with limited seating.
That's fine with us, since we usually come in the summer. The inside is smoky and noisy anyway....The food has improved quite a bit from the previous owner's offerings. The prices are reasonable. You used to be able to buy boat gas there, but not anymore.More
Being able to float up and tie up to this place makes for a unique experience. This is definitely the local dive and that is meant in a good way! The staff is very friendly and we had a great time for both the lunch...and later return to celebrate in the evening. The beer selection on tap and in bottles is fantastic, though the food, with the exception of the good pizza, is otherwise pretty average fare. Don't expect much on that front, but the all you can eat specials are good deals.More
Stop at the Barbee landing pier at Little Barbee for a quick lunch. The food was really good and the waitress was very helpful and cheerie. Don't see that often and a bar and restaurant. They have take aways too.
Date of visit: August 2014
