It's been awhile since we visited New Boston Tavern and when we walked in patrons were standing in line. We were seated after a short wait and there were only two ladies working but they were awesome. One tended bar and waited on tables in...the bar and the other handled the dining room. My wife had the grilled pork chops and I had the grilled pork steak. They were perfection in pork! Wow!! The side salad with house dressing and the german fries were perfect accessories. Don't miss this hidden gem. The prices are modest and the food is terrific!More

Our family of seven enjoyed a nice meal here. We went on a Weds so the menu is more limited than on weekends. They still had plenty to chose from. Just a nice local place with very friendly service. The turtle soup was excellent, good...tenderloin sandwiches, great fish sandwich, tasty chili. A good value too. Agree with another reviewer, not fancy just good food.More

The seating is limited and the food is excellent! Grilled pork steak, pork chops, steaks, fried chicken, frog legs, the list goes on. Never have had a bad meal. On this night people were standing in line waiting for a table. If you like good...food in a country setting this is your place. Enjoy!!!More

This is a nice laid back tavern with decent food and drink. Ribs are good. Steak is fine if you can get them grill it the way you order it. Otherwise everything is well done. Prime Rib is something else. It was described as being...smoked, chilled, sliced, reheated and served. That should tip you off. This isn't good Prime Rib. I would never smoke a Prime Rib, you alter the flavor too much. Other than that, its a great little place/ Only open for food Thur,Fri and Sat with a Sunday Brunch dtarting September.More

My wife and I took another couple here for their first time and they summed it up with one word....WOW!!! Fried chicken was a hit as was the pork steak. Prices are very reasonable and service is excellent despite it being very busy. Seating is...limited.More

My family went for breakfast. It's a small place, so a table for ten was difficult. One family moved halfway through their breakfast to make a table big enough for us! Great service and food! Pancakes are the best; Extremely large! Great prices, too. We...will difinetly be back!More

If you're passing through town and read the great reviews, keep in mind, this tavern only serves the full menu Thursday through Saturday. It's a very small town, so they seem to weight their resources when they matter: toward the weekend. Also, a sign on...the door mentions they are closed on Sundays in the summer. They do offer sandwiches and burgers other food available from the fryer throughout the rest of the week, but they seem to operate more as a bar Monday through Wednesday, so keep that in mind. Our server was polite and did answer any questions we had, but I suspect she both cooked and served our food, so the service was understandably slow, but we did not have an overall bad experience. There is a little off-color humor in the decor, perhaps even offensive if you're prudish, but overall it's subtle and this is a small, locally owned business. Given the chance, we would return on Thursday through Saturday to try the full menu.More

The Chicken Fried Steak was crispy and very well seasoned. The pancakes were outrageously big and delicious.

Let me first start off by saying that I am a local, and live about 15 minutes form the restaurant. We eat here on numerous occasions throughout the year. This is one of the best places that I have ever eaten! I travel all around...the country for work, and I eat at many "fine dining" establishments. Those places do not hold a candle to the dinners that I get at the New Boston Tavern. Like others have said. Seating is VERY limited. We usually call an order in, and get it to go. As a matter of fact, I just placed an order about 3 minutes ago. If you are ever close to the area, you MUST try the Pork Chops, Pork Steak, Ribs, or Steak.More

I would doubt it as it seems to be a gathering place for locals and it is a bar atmosphere at all times but I have not been there for breakfast recently so I cannot guarantee.
