I have never participated on social media, but with my dinner Wednesday, February 16th must post-a first for me. I was lucky enough to be invited by friends to have dinner at Harry and Bud’s and smart enough to have accepted. We arrived and were...graciously greeted. The aroma alone could have kept me happy for hours. After being seated our wonderful host started delivering our dinner. I had been told by one of our party to just take a bite or two of each dish as there would be so many dishes there would be no way to eat it all at one sitting. Well, that ship sailed after taking my first bite-it was too delicious to stop. Breads, cheeses, meats, vegetables, seafood...if I listed everything individually it might take you an hour to finish reading. I asked how long it took to prepare and was told five and a half hours. I sincerely think it would have taken anyone else five and a half weeks-and even then it wouldn’t have tasted anything close to the masterful dishes we were served. How one man does what he does is beyond me. I had no idea Terre Haute has such a treasure. We all ate so much we actually had to stand up before dessert arrived-swearing we couldn’t eat one more bite but quickly changing our minds when dessert arrived. Hands down, the best meal, and experience, I have ever had. Unbelievable. As a fantastic bonus, we were encouraged to take leftovers home with us. Even though we all ate more than any of us had ever had for one meal, there was still plenty for each of us to have several boxes to take home with us. I was still full today after last night but I am looking forward tonight to the delicious dishes I have stashed in my fridge. My friend who was awesome enough to invite me said “It’s like Disney World for foodies.” Perfect line, wish I had thought of it. If you are lucky enough to get reservations, do not hesitate!!! I am already dreaming of returning. KarenMore

Group of 12 friends had a wonderful 3 1/2 hrs food experience. Huge quantities of very uniquely prepared food. Beef & pork tenderloin, salmon, shrimp, scallops, Turkey, bread cheese, etc. Enormous amounts of leftovers. Well worth the trip. Must make reservations weeks in advance

We had heard of Harry and Bud's years ago from friends, and had always intended to try it some day. That day was yesterday, when we gathered a quorum of 6 of us (the minimum: the maximum he'll serve is around 12) for an evening...feast (the lone, culinary genius, chef indicated he hosts only single-sitting meals three or so nights a week). The legendary unlabeled yellow brick cube that houses this event (and its 50's interior decor :-) are so unimposing one can hardly imagine what is in store when you walk inside. We popped a bottle of champagne (alcoholic beverages are BYO) as we waited a few minutes for our appointed dinner hour, and then the torrent of fabulous food began! After struggling several times for words that could begin to describe the experience, this is what I came up with: this was nothing short of a Medieval King's Court Banquet -- the best food that could possibly conjured up from the best ingredients available, and in quantities that were stupefying -- after nearly four hours of dining, each of our three couples went home with several full meals worth of takeout boxes. A short list of our favorites of the dozen or so courses were a tuna carpaccio salad, goat cheese with caramelized garlic cloves, crab cakes with a wonderful (remoulade?) sauce, the most amazingly perfectly cooked lamb chops one can imagine, and a melt-in-your-mouth pink trout surrounded by crepes with a delicate sauce, and on and on. But don't count on any of these being on the menu when you go -- there is no menu, the chef makes up what to cook each day on the spur of the moment's inspiration! This was a treat like none we had ever experienced, a feast definitely Fit for a King...More

We made a dinner reservation at the restaurant for a group of 6, but then, on the day of, one person wasn't feeling well. I called back in the morning to notify them of the change from 6 to 5, and left a phone message....A few hours later, a person called me back and was very rude and hostile, telling me not to come for dinner and furthermore never to come back to the restaurant! He made it clear that me- the customer- had greatly inconvenienced him. I can't believe that this place can stay in business with this customer orientation- the food must be really something compared to other places in Terre Haute!More

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to be a Medieval King or Queen and throw a banquet. That is the best analogy I can draw. Over the top! First if you were king/queen, you would only dine with friends or other fun...people. (H&B requires a minimum of 6 people.) Second you would plan it in advance. (H&B might take 6 weeks to get an available date.) Third, you would invest in it. (It's $50/head and a nice tip would be appropriate - probably.) Fourth you would want more than just food, you are a king/queen; you want the best or nothing. H&B's will provide you with a feast fit for a king/queen. A FEAST! Bring- high quality and lots of it. Be prepared to take a lot home. The 6 of us took 25 full carry out cartons of feast. It should be a loud raucous evening; be prepared to have fun.More

A dining experience unlike any other. The owner/chef does not hold back on the courses! Soups, breads, cheeses, chicken, steak, lamb, fish, seafood, steak, meatballs, pork, pasta, quiche, vegetables, rices, and desserts — and everything tasted amazing! We had left overs for days. Bring a...good bottle of wine and try not to eat too much... if you can.More

We drove on IS70 and found this restaurant over Internet. As we arrived, found big room with two long tables, not cleaned. Like there was a big party minutes ago. A guy who dumped some trash outside told us, that they work only by reservation....So, the food and service might be superior, but for parties only. It is long drive out of the highway for nothing.More

We were one of six couples who have eaten at a lot of restaurants over the years. All of us were amazed that 1 man cooked that much food by himself and it was delicious. We were served so much and so many types of...food it was like a Monty Python skit. The eighth of twelve entrees that came out was a full roasted turkey!!! We packed it all up and took it home. I will be the best week of leftovers ever at our house.More

Very memorable in several respects. It is special to have the restaurant all to yourself, so that you are not bothered by other diners or worried about having to leave to make room for the next group. And the food is second to none, both...in quality and quantity. Though you can't influence what Jeffrey will prepare (other than indicating any allergies, vegetarian, etc.), but this is no concern as there are SO MANY dishes that there will be many items for any person's taste. And LOTS of leftovers to take home.More

HI, I apologize for the delay. He does not routinely offer lunch service. Last time we were there he indicated that it was too rushed. This is definitely a place to take your time. He is open. His hours are totally set... More
