This is my favorite restaurant and I try to visit every time I visit Terre Haute. I love the delicious food, the attentive service, the creative drinks, the sophisticated atmosphere and the historic character of the location on South 7th Street. The owners and the staff always make sure I'm welcomed and well-fed. Please check out Bar Bosco ASAP, you will love it.

An amazing find we lucked into as we drove through Terre Haute on our way back to Indy. Though a Saturday evening, they were booked, squeezed us into the bar. Ordered up glasses of wine ( I had the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc ), followed by a shared entree of the Pear Ravioli with Tellegio Cream Cheese Sauce, and the Insalata Tritata. The ravioli was an incredibly tasty combination of luscious flavors, hard to describe, you just have to try it. The salad was with a champagne vinaigrette combined with romaine and arugula. We ended with the espresso gelato, so good. The music along with the decor made for an awesome ambiance and we can’t recommend this place enough! Get a chance, don’t miss it, we will be going back!

I ordered a campari and orange juice which is a long drink... but I received a tiny glass with a HUGE ice cube in it. It was not campari either but a knock off. The tiramisu is not the spongy cake that is supposed to be, but a creation made on the spot that taste coffee but is far from the real deal. The food is good, the music is horrible and LOUD. A restaurant is NOT a sports bar, people go there to enjoy the food and conversation, NOT to yell at one another to be able to hear one another.

Excellent server, incredible drinks, amazing atmosphere, relaxed, and never rushed. These things are all that’s keeping the review from being one less notch. Our group had a reservation for 7 pm (They open at 5 and close at 10) and as usual, the place was hopping. This has become the spot you can’t dine at unless you plan ahead and reserve a spot. You would think this would be communicated to the chef so that food quantity and selection isn’t impacted negatively, but last night it wasn’t. First tried ordering the polenta. Nope - out. So, I switched to pumpkin ravioli. What arrived on my plate were 6 of the smallest, most pitiful, dried up looking pieces of ravioli that I’ve ever seen; it looked like the bottom of the pan had been scraped to make the plate. I would have used bread to wipe up extra sauce, only there was hardly any sauce. For this I was charged $21. I soothed myself by saying dessert would make it better, only to find out that they were out of both tiramisu and cannoli. I get they’re closed on Sunday and Monday and don’t want a bunch of food left over on a Saturday night, but for goodness sakes we were only half way through their hours of operation and this was the situation with a full house? It shouldn’t have been necessary for me to make a fast food stop afterwards, but it was. Disappointed.

Bland and uninspired Italian food. I grew up in Chicago in an Italian immigrant family and have traveled to Italy many times. The recommendations to visit Bar Bosco to eat their Italian cuisine were very complimentary. So we drove 90 minutes with high hopes for a great experience. We were a party of 5 and had cocktails and one appetizer before the main courses. The cocktails were terrific and the appetizer of various cured meats and cheese (Bosco Taglieri) with focaccia was excellent. Then the entrees arrived and the bubble was burst. The cod special was evidently very good as was the chicken Marsala. But the pasta dishes were bland, bland BLAND. A bit of salt and or pecorino might have helped. Two of us had the pappardelle bolognese and it had literally no flavor. It could have been a plate of noodles with no sauce, that is how bland the bolognese was to eat. The sorpresine con salsiccia was described as being very similar to a Hamburger Helper meal. The man who ordered this can be a big eater but this meal went unfinished. He didn’t even want a doggie bag because he knew it would go uneaten. Desserts were all excellent—limoncello cheesecake, cannoli and a torta. Total bill with tip for 5 people came to $380! The pasta entrees were so bad and so disappointing we will not return. This is most definitely NOT an authentic Italian restaurant. If this is what you are looking for, keep looking.

My husband and I don’t go to dinner in Terre Haute often as there is very little restaurant selections unless you want big chain restaurant. This place is a hidden gem! Authentic Italian, delicious cocktails and great environment. The service was excellent and the meal was great! We would return again!

Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had including fast food. My meal cost $41 and the service was not living up to that hype. I was with a party of 10 split between 2 waiters. The waiter for my group was very dismissive and literally ignored our table. We were at the restaurant for 3 hours from start to finish. Our food took awhile to come out, but was pretty average at best, we did not get refills. The dessert menu was finally presented to my mom, who was celebrating her birthday, and we didn’t see our waiter after that. I waited for over 45 minutes before asking for a different waiter because we were being neglected. After this the waitstaff was confused and still ignored us. I asked for a manager many times and was sent damage control that was not an actual manager. Will definitely be spreading the word about what a disgrace this restaurant is after so much hype. The food was good but our time was wasted and we were practically held hostage because we couldn’t even get our bill. For the record, our waiter was Logan.

Made reservations two weeks in advance. We were shown to a cramped metal table off in a corner barely big enough for two people. Next to a moped. (???) The chairs were horribly uncomfortable and the table was low, like a kids table. The music is 90s pop music and was so loud we couldn't hear each other even though we were squished together at this table. Our food came out five minutes within the order going in so not sure how fresh it was. Portions and taste do not justify the price point of what we got. Then, service came to a screeching halt. We sat with dirty dishes for 15 minutes. 20 minutes to get a refill on ice tea. After the table was finally cleared it was another 15 minutes of sitting there until our server appeared to ask if we wanted anything else. 20 minutes to get the check, run a credit card, and get it back. And they were not busy. There are way better options in Terre Haute for fine dining than this place. Won't be back and will not recommend.

If you're looking for quality Italian food, this is your place. Where Terre Haute is mostly the land of chain restaurants and dive joints, this is high-quality food that would thrive even in larger cities. While it's a little off the normal path where one would find most dining establishments in Terre Haute, if you happen to stumble upon it, I promise you won't be disappointed. Their pan-fried gnocchi is to die for. However, there is nothing on the menu that would disappoint. Also, they have a bar with specialty drinks that will make you want to make sure you have a DD for the night. True mixology. So if fine dining at reasonable prices isn't your thing, then stick to Fazoli's. However, if you want a wonderful meal with awesome service, you have to visit this place. Be sure to save room for dessert. That canolis are absolutely fabulous!!! You'd be hard-pressed to find a restaurant anywhere in town that is better.

I have visited this restaurant a few times and each time I find myself paying more and leaving more disappointed. Prices go up but quality goes down. Food tastes good, but it is also a $50 + if you dont go for pasta. Drinks come in a small glass with an ice cube as big as the glass. Two zips and drink is gone. They dont seem to know that some drinks are long drinks. They all come same size. You feel cheated.

Ok so Terre Haute has another excellent restaurant in town. Wife and I went the other night and were pleasantly surprised. The menu is very original and unique. Plenty also for the less experimental as well. Our server was Jordan who was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Our service was prompt and timely. Overall was a excellent experience even with a menu that is a little pricey but well worth it. Great job folks!

I’ve dined here many times - most all before the pandemic period and with an exception, every experience was really good. After? Not so much. Perhaps the funniest was when I asked for a little extra sauce - said that I didn’t mind paying for it, and was told the “chef didn’t do that”. Well, chef isn’t the one paying or eating. Decided to give it another try. I want to support local. So, I called here to make a reservation for a party of 10 people. I was told that we couldn’t be at one table and that they wouldn’t guarantee the tables would be close in proximity. Their reasoning was that it was a Friday night date. We could have 2 table spaces for all of us separately, and they didn’t care how long we stayed on a Friday night, but they “can’t” seat us at the same two tables pushed together. Puzzling and makes absolutely no sense. Same people, spending the same amount of time dining at the same restaurant, same night, but because it’s Friday and they’re busier on Friday’s, we can’t sit together? Clue: You’d still be serving the exact same amount whether we are at two tables or one. 👍🏻 I tried to support and bring friends who love eating out to you to help grow your business. I really did. I called another local fine dining restaurant and they were more than happy to accommodate all of us, no questions asked. And, they will get our 10 positive reviews when the time comes. Done trying, done recommending. Just done.

We are in visiting from Europe for the summer and were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. To my absolute delight, Bar Bosco delivered an ambiance and service that is as impressive as any high end restaurant in Dublin! The staff are lovely, the food and drinks are delicious, the atmosphere is unlike any here in Terre Haute (which is a good thing). The staff that we spoke to commented on how much they enjoy working here - raved about how they are treated with respect and it's the best place they have ever worked. It's true that the drinks on the pricier side than other places around but you get what you pay for and Bar Bosco is worth every penny. We will 10000% be back. Thanks Ken and Joe for bringing such an amazing experience to TH

Unexpectedly very good . We dropped by per recommendation of a friend. The dishes were very good, The ambience had the feel of a major metropolitan restaurant. Really unexpected for Terrahaute. Btw, their “old fashioned” drink is home brew so I also recommend this for whisky officianados. I highly recommend this place

One of the best Italian meals that I have had outside of Italy. House made pasta was excellent. The SORPRESINE CON SALSICCIA was out of this world. Fresh pasta with fennel pollen sausage in a light white wine sauce. Limoncello cheesecake was also excellent. If you are an Old Fashioned fan, theirs is very well crafted.
