The best BBQ in Town

Homey's is a great place. Not fancy, but the best take out BBQ in Terre Haute. You can get anything on the menu and be very happy. It's even fun to drive by and smell the smoker in action.

This is a small place with BIG taste. Very limited seating but that's alright because they pack it up ready to take on the go. Best to call ahead and order to pick up. These guys are a friendly bunch having fun at what they do. Have had Ribs, pulled pork, chicken wings and pork loin. ALL excellent. If you... More

Homey's is certainly not pretentious and is located off of the beaten track - about a mile east of 41. There is off-street parking, but it does seem to be primarily a take-out restaurant, though there are a few tables if you choose to eat there. We tried a full order of rib tips and they were delicious. I loved... More

We have eaten BBQ all over the south, even judged Rib at the famous Memphi in May contest, and Homey's has all the fixins of a classic authentic "roadfood" destintion. Warm and helpful counter service, two smokin pits in the lot, and killer smoked meats and sides of course. After several trips to Terre Haute, this is the "real deal"... More

Open Thursday thru Saturday, Homey's is an unpretentious Take Out barbecue with a handful of tables, where you can wait for your order or eat if you can't make it home fast enough. I enjoyed the Half Slab Pork for $11.99+tax. Sauce is mild or so hot you can't put out the fire behind you. Tell them what you want.... More

Yes, it's a little scary from the outside. True, it primarily caters to carry-out customers. Indeed, it's only open in the latter half of the week. However...this is one of the better BBQ restaurants I've ever been to. I've traveled all over the United States, and I can say without hesitation that Homey's BBQ sauce is the best I've ever... I Love good BBQ. I travel to Memphis every year to eat some of the best champion BBQ around. This is just so so. Ribs were dry and the smoke tasted a bit funny. Won't be going back.

Ran by a super nice family, that really knows what they're doing, when it comes to serving up smoked ribs, chicken and pulled pork. If you're in Terre Haute stop here for lunch or dinner. You'll be glad you did.
