Went here for dinner. Enjoyed the starters and my curry. Great selection of many different vegan Asian style dishes. Not the most appealing ambiance but very friendly and fast service. My non vegan coworker enjoyed his dish as well. Good size portions. You’ll leave satisfied. Will be back during my next visit.

We decided to give this place a try since it got such good reviews. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. The restaurant itself is a bit rundown and the food wasn't very good either. I would not recommend this place.

Until the excellent food arrived, we were not much impressed with the decor or the friendly-but-distracted service from two young ladies. The menu looked like any Chinese restaurant, even with pictures. We ordered a mix of healthy and tasty choices for our 1st visit. The food came out as it was readied, not all-at-once. But once we tucked in, the true splendor of Pinellia emerged. Our vegan protein choices were tempeh and seitan, and they were awesome and amazing. The mouthfeel of each was satisfying and delicious, neither tough nor overly-chewy, not smushy or overly-greasy, but perhaps the best Asian food imaginable. Generous amounts of brown sauce over excellent breading on the fried choices made them wolfable. The tempeh satay appetizer was too much food, but tasted great cold the next morning for breakfast. My wife is not vegan, and this is the first time she liked vegan protein. I have been vegan for 33 years and would hold up this food against any others anywhere on the planet. Wow! I asked the girls if they were famous, and they looked at my like I was from another planet. "You should be," I told them. If you can get past the humble location, storefront, and interior, the food is top-notch. If I lived anywhere close to South Bend, I would get carry-out from here all the time.

Lots of fried salty food. It was disappointing. It isn’t different from standard, over processed Chinese take out. We came here based on Happy Cow reviews and were disappointed with our four meals.

This is a great vegan restaurant. My acquaintance is a vegan, and he finds the food to have a great variety of food. It is a family-run business. Everyone that works here is very friendly. I would recommend even if you are vegan or not.

In South Bend for a night and because we're vegan we searched for toprated vegan restaurants in the area. We chose Pinellia and we were soooo glad we did; the food was just outstanding! King Oyster Mushrooms, Orange Chicken, Malaysian Curry Stew, Eggplant, scallion pancakes - all were so very delicious. We did takeout. You can't go wrong here.

We had a great experience there. The food was very good. I had the setin garlic with veggies and was great my wife had the sweet and sour "chicken" it was good. I don't think an Omni would be able to tell the difference. The spring rolls are great also. The owners are nice we talked to them for a little bit afterwards. Would recommend.

The restaurant is easy to locate and has good parking. I ordered mixed veggies in a brown sauce at the counter and it was completed quickly. The veggies consisted of broccoli with a couple pieces of celery and carrot. I thought there would be a greater variety of veggies but it was mostly broccoli and it was not cooked and crunchy raw. I think 8$ for raw broccoli in brown sauce is not my cup of tea. The spring roll was delicious and cooked correctly. The dining area was tidy and well kept. The ladies restroom was messy and needed wiped down.

We went to Pinellia for take away dinner. From the outside you would not even consider entering, but we heard good things so we decided to try it. The place seems family run, the (I assume) owners at the desk were very friendly, after making sure that we do not live too far they even told us that they could deliver food to us in the future.
We ordered Spring Rolls, some Mango Avocado & Cucumber Roll, Tofu Skin Wraps, Pad Thai and Malaysian Curry Stew. Everything was good, the tofu skin wraps were great, but what really stood out was the Malaysian Curry Stew. So much flavour! I am really, really impressed!
We will definitely go back soon. I recommend this place wholeheartedly.
