This cafe on the square is tring to hold on to a dying downtown--sad to see. With a bar on one side plus a few tables for eating and another room for dining, it was probably a busy place in the past. The waitress/bar tender knew the other custtomer and even went outside when she saw someone pull up to... More

We came here for lunch after visiting some of the shops. We arrived at 11:45 and worried it may be busy with a lunch crowd. Well, it wasn't. There were a few people at the bar but no other customers. Our party ordered sandwiches, salads and 1 daily special. We received our food 1 hour and 10 minutes later. Our... More

Hardy's Café provides a great old style restaurant, that brings the local flavor of Scottsburg to the patrons. The service is good and the food and prices are excellent. I will definitely visit again

I visit small towns all across Indiana to photograph the town squares at dusk, and usually try to eat at one of the local establishments to get the whole 'local' feel. I did not expect Hardy's Cafe (also a bar next door) to be open since I was in town on a Sunday evening after 8pm, but Hardy's was open.... More

People certainly don't go here to find exceptional food, but it wasn't bad. We were satisfied with our breakfast but it wasn't out of this world. It is what it is, small town restaurant and bar that was just OK. Our service was good and it got us going for the day. Could be better but Hardy's is not bad.

I was looking for a restaurant that was not a chain in Scottsdale, and this was the only one I could find that fit the bill. The offerings were uninspired, your usual pub fare. Burgers, pizza.. I ordered grilled chicken and a potato, healthiest thing I could find on the menu. Salad was iceberg lettuce with cheese. Chicken was actually pretty... More

I had dinner here one night. I opted to go with something that couldn't be messed up, like a burger and fries. I'm glad I made that choice. The mushroom burger was actually pretty good, and the fries were hot. I also had the coleslaw which was not too bad. The food was OK, but the service really was poor.... More

We were looking for a local alternative to fast food chains while travelling on I-65. Hardy's Home Place was recommended to us by the gas station. It is located on the main town square behind the courthouse (southwest side of square). If you have time in your travels, I recommend this stop, if nothing else you can stretch your legs.... More

My husband and I both looked at each other when we walked in the door and thought we should leave and after we ate there we knew we were right with our first impression. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich which was nothing more than a frozen chicken patty with a piece of ham and melted cheese over it on... More

Have been there a couple times for breakfast and have disappointed every time, food not good and over priced. Most bars have good food, but not here
