Free chips and salsa-very good.
We had lunch here. My wife had the #1 lunch special which she said was great.
I had the tostada guacamole. Excellent!
Service was very prompt.
Will stop here again if the opportunity presents itself.
Stopped at this restaurant while staying at the Hampton Inn down the street on a drive north from Florida. The carnitas were delightful. the pork was so well prepared, and they gave me a ton of it. The service was good though it wasn't super...fast-- but everything was work waiting few extra minutes for.More
The food was good. But the prices increase every month, it seems like. You cant read the ticket to know what your being charged. Prefer Sante Fe 2 to 1 over them. The building is large and Accessible for Wheelchairs. Parking is rough and there...are no designated Handicap spots. Be careful in your Wheelchair on the sidewalk. As stated prior, good Mexican food. Just not out first choice. Definitely not the number 1 Restaurant in Scott County as shown.More
The inside of this restaurant is appealing and fun. The service is fine. The main disappointment is the food is not very flavorful. I love Mexican food, but I like it to have some seasoning and flavor. The food here is very basic and bland....However, this is the go-to place for people who say they like Mexican, but really like American-Mexican food with some salsa on the side or cheese sauce on the top- no surprise their number one seller is shredded chicken over rice with queso on top. If that is what you enjoy, then this place will fit the bill.More
Friendly servers, definitely ESL.
Ample parking, reasonable prices.
We disagree with other reviewers who complained about the salsa. We’ve had a lot of Pace and other store salsas, and this was not like those. Chips were fresh and hot. Salsa was definitely “homemade”,...spicy, and fresh.
Tasty rellano quesadilla, but strange since Everything was stuffed inside. Chicken was tasty and spicy.
Cheese rellano was stuffed with cheese. Taco meat was spicy.
Both meals came with a garden of shredded lettuce.
Beans were creamy to the extreme without much flavor.
Guacamole that came with the meals was good. Table side guacamole was available, but we are traveling and knew we’d have leftover guacamole that we could not take with us.More
Looking for a place to stop for lunch - we wanted something close by 1-65 and with good reviews- food was average prices good service was quick - decor was nice
Nothing outstanding- food was good but not outstanding- lots of choices on menu- encountered...no problemsMore
The service was prompt. Great salsa and chips. I had the fish tacos which were tasty and a large amount. Three tacos. All others liked their choices too. One had the fajitas and were a substantial amount. The rest had enchiladas. All good. The only...negative was some ordered beer and had to settle for their third choice as they were out of some of their listed brews.
We would go again if and when in the area.More
Was not happy, flavorless food. Server was great but the only thing with flavor was the salsa and tasted like grocery store chips. The combination burrito, taco, tamale meal was awful and the meat was watery. Chicken polo was not seasoned and didnt come with veggies...or cheese on top. We won't be back.More
My wife and I had dinner here while staying overnight in Scottsburg. The restaurant has a pleasant decor (carved and brightly painted booths and chairs) and the ambiance is quiet enough to engage in conversation during your meal. Started out with wonderful margaritas to have...with our chips (nice, not salty) and tasty salsa. From the extensive menu, I ordered camarones en mojo de ajo which was outstanding (shrimp served with garlic sauce, onions, tomatoes, avocado slices, rice, and refried beans). My wife ordered camarones especial. The sauce was a bit too picante for her, but we adjusted the spicy sauce by dipping the shrimp in the salsa. Service cordial and prompt. Prices very reasonable. Would definitely eat there again should we be in the area again.More
Two things stood out to me when eating here. 1. man they are quick! 2. wow look at the interior!
It is your typical mexican fair but you will enjoy eating it sitting on fancy carved and painted chairs, tables, and booths.
