Taken here by friends who live in Antofagasta. a selection of fish as this is a fishing port, but I settled on Lomo a Pobre (beef, onions, two eggs and chips (fries). Clean, tidy, with locals in there. Good service and reasonable prices. Recommend it.

PROS 1. Fresh sea food and excellent beef as well. 2. Good quality and ample servings. 3. Friendly wait staff. 4. Close to main street and sea in this small city. CONS 1. Food is over-salted, like most Chilean food. ASK for your main dish to have LESS SALT ("menos sal, per favor")

Friendly, popular place. Simple menu and servings. I had an excellent albacora steak, papas fritas and simple tomato salad. The service was good too.

The look of the place is a little old and stuffy but compared to the other places in Mejillones is a 5 star. Good food, vast variety but somehow expensive compared to the other places... More

I was at Zlatar on Saturday evening only to learn that they close at 21:30? The place is shabby, has some scent of the times long gone. There were few people in, and now I know why. The owners and waitress spoke no English, but that was not the problem. They were kind and service was reasonably quick. The problem... More
