A consistent favorite of ours, The Onion serves Bento boxes, bubble tea and other traditional fare. My favorite is the lunch special of Kung Pao Chicken. Lunch comes with egg roll, soup and fried rice ($0.50 extra). Fast friendly service and never a wait. Worth trying if you've never been. An established regular in our restaurants to visit.

Very good attentive service. Vegetable soup was good although I wasn't a fan of the broth. Ordered shrimp rolls which were a little greasy and didn't contain a lot of shrimp. Lastly ordered the shrimp with broccoli which was very good. Next time I would skip the soup and rolls and just jump to the main dish.

Customer service was lacking as well as a tasty meal. There is a new Chinese restaurant in town that serves very fresh and reasonably priced meals. It is called the Green Tea . The Onion needs to be friendlier to customers and more attentive. The day I was there a young child (about 4) was present with the server and seemed to... More

There is something comforting about being able to order Chinese food from a menu, have it prepared for you, and you only, have it served fresh and hot and to your taste. As far as I know this is the only place left in the immediate area where you can get chinese food like this. Having something set on a... More

A diamond in the rough in Southern Indiana! After a day at a convention, we were hungry. So, we decided on Chinese food. This place really filled the bill. The décor is not bad, could use some improvement. However, they make up for it with the food. This was some of the best Kung Pao Chicken I ever had. The... More

Having lived in the Middle East, I know what real hummus is suppose to taste like. Most place have really good hummus, BUT, this little gem of a restaurant has the real thing! The owners and their children run this little cozy restaurant. The wife used to be a caterer in the "old country". She knows her stuff! Everything is... More

This is a strange little place with a varied menu. The atmosphere is unusual - the restaurant is in an old house that has long been a restaurant. Parking is easy. Have been here several times and every time the food was good. Regular American fare is also available so it is an easy place to take kids.

I decided to get all appetizers and soup. Egg rolls were just ok. Potstickers were amazing. I had sizzling chicken soup and it was so good I can't wait to go back. It was delicious. Have seen this place for years but never stopped in. I will be back soon.

This is my first TripAdvisor Restaurant Review, but I believe Onion Restaurant is very deserving up a big thumbs up! My family and I have been going there for several years, and have never had a negative experience of any kind! We often take friends with us, and have had groups of 8 at several times. The staff is kind,... More

Quirky and kitschy, flavorful and not bland, great service and inexpensive; the Onion has it all. I had lunch there yesterday. For $6.50 I had egg drop soup with dried noodles, Mongolian Beef, rice, and an egg roll! You can even get a nasty combo at McDonalds for that! I also ordered the Crab Rangoon. They were all good as... More
