We make it a point to dine at Das Dutchman Essenhaus every few weeks. Our children always considered the trip and subsequent meal and shopping a joyful occasion. We still do, after 25 years of wonderful meals!

Nice facilities. Great service. Cute extended gift shop. Very awesome decoration. However..... The food is below par with Golden Coral for quality and variety. Restrooms while nice, require handicap / mobility impaired guests to use an elevator to the second floor. Where was the town's planning laws when this building permit was issued? It's a tourist thing. But never twice.

We did the buffet at dinner time as a family. We did that instead of the family dining. The chicken and roast beef they had on the buffet were both very good. The mashed potatoes and stuffing were both homemade and good. They had a good salad bar to choose from. When you do the buffet, drinks and dessert is... More

We stopped here after touring the Auburn, Cord, Dusenberg Museum to eat Amish food. The place is very popular, 40 minute wait for the buffet on a Tuesday. They have shops and a walking trail so you can explore while you wait. The PA system is in all the buildings so you can hear when your name is called. Food... More

Great food and service! We had the buffet and everything we tried was fresh and homemade Amish cooking. The shops nearby have nice selections. Staff at the restaurant and shops were very accommodating and pleasant.

We stopped in the evening after driving throughout the county looking at the various quilt gardens. Sat at the counter since they were very busy. Were able to sit immediately. Our food was good and delicious. Waitress was very friendly.

Huge home-style buffet with large salad bar. Broasted chicken is delish! Service was very good. Ate too much to try the famous homemade pie. Pricey gift shop and busy bakery.

We had the buffet and it was just what we expected- delicious and filling. My wife and I had the lemonade and were a little disappointed. The only drawback to getting the buffet was having to pay more for their famous pie, which we did not end up doing since we were so full from the rest. The service was... More

A little pricey but the food was great. Of course we over ate! It was Amish homemade food all the way.

We requested seating in the 'Amish Buggy", for a visit with our Grandchildren. They are ages 5 and 3. It was really special sitting in buggy with a table in the middle of the buggy. The kids loved it! It is also very cozy in the buggy. Instead of feeling like your in a big restaurant, it made it very... More
