Great coffee, great food, great owners. The atmosphere is fabulous especially since the deck and outdoor seating added but I loved this place when it was in the tiny corner building across the street too many years ago. Sometimes smelly is even playing guitar on...More

From the minute we walked in to the warm greeting and complementary popcorn to the “thank you come again” when we finished this place was great! We each had our own panini, WOW! These were huge, very filling and superb flavor. Coupled with the paninis,...More

We didn't stay long enough in Metamora to eat here. Smelly gives you a sample of their popcorn when you come in. He's a very friendly guy and will talk with you about anything. That is, if he's not making paninis. There's a gift shop...More

I have been to Metamora 5 times and always visit the Smelly Gourmet. The food and coffee is very good and I always get some of Smelly's popcorn to take home. Always a good time at Smellys.

SmellyHimself is the life of Metamora, and we always enjoy his history lessons, given in a Chef's Jacket and Tall Hat. We give Smelly Gourmet a Five Star Tripadvisor rating, and we always recommend. Do read the menu and ask SmellyHimself for a recommendation.

There is something special about good grilled cheese, and you can find it a Smelly’s. They have something like 15 varieties, but really they will make it how you want it on their homemade bread. We went on a hot Friday and Metamora was quiet,...More

Description
Enter the Smelly Gourmet and you'll probably be greeted by Smelly Himself (aka Steve) with his big white beard and top hat. All your senses will be instantly triggered and you'll know where the "Smelly" in the Smelly Gourmet comes from. First, titillate your taste buds with our European Coffee Bar and a sample of our Family Grown Hull-less popcorn. Step out of the box with one of 12 grilled cheese Panini sandwiches made with our secret recipe bread and homemade Smelly chips served on 1940's fine china. From a classic to a Reuben you're sure to find many you'll love. Roam around the shop and your smell-a-meter will trip with all the yummy bath and body product made by Brenda (aka the Head Stinker). You'll also see many unusual items like "Smellys" Geek Clocks and magnets, hand painted furniture and so much more. Housed in an 1845 Federal Style house you will feel right at home with Smelly and the Head Stinker. The goal is for everyone that enters the door will leave feeling like they had a wonderful experience. Spend the night or weekend in The Banes Suite, our luxury suite for two.
