Kokoro is owned and run by Tony. He says his food isn't Japanese, that it's just Tony food. Quite happy with himself. I must say that his food IS delicious. I had probably the best fried rice in my life here. No doubt about that. But....it cost $25 and took about an hour. So, yeah, the food and the atmosphere... More

My husband and I plus a couple of our friends had heard wonderful reviews about this restaurant, so we decided to try it out one evening. We had also heard that there could be a wait for the food since it was freshly prepared by the owner and his wife, and the hostess at the door told us that it... More

Dining at Kokoro is an experience, and very unpredictable. The sushi is tasty but expensive and packed with rice. I recommend sticking with two dishes that have routinely been impressive. The hibachi steak is prepared beautifully and the accompanying sauce is exquisite. The shrimp fried rice is bountiful and superb. Beware of Tony's antics, and try not be intimidated as... More

My cats wouldn't even eat this stuff...a crying shame I had to pay for it! Was very heavy and rather unappealing. Won't be back...I can't believe the place is still in business as long as it has been

The food is unusual and fantastic. Chef Tony is eccentric to say the least, but it is hard to argue with the results. It is not a cheap date, but it is worth the experience.

Food is outstanding. Just know that you will wait a while and people in your party will get meals at different times. Tony might even yell a little bit. The teriyaki steak is to die for. The sushi rolls are huge and delicious and the fried rice will make you want to slap your momma! Go in with the right... More

Yes, it's expensive. Yes, the wait might take hours. Yes, you will forget all of this once you get the first bite. An all time favorite!!

Some of the best sushi I have ever had. Tony was awesome. People who don't like him need to lighten up a bit. Great!!!!!!!!

I've eaten here many times over the last nine years. I never come hungry-- I know that by the time I get my food, I'll be starving. "Tony," the legendarily cranky Japanese owner, claims on the menu that he's slow because he's the only one in the kitchen and he's old. Yes, sure, that's true. But it's also true that... More

For a restaurant I had heard so many great things about, the meal was unacceptable. We knew service would be bad since that is a long standing part of the restaurant's reputation. Even for usual standards our service was worse than expected. Dinner took 3.5 hours and we cancelled part of our order before we would have been done had... More
