Traveling home from a visit to family, we read a few restaurant reviews, and decided to try Papa Roux on the north side of Indianapolis. An unprepossessing strip mall, reached by winding through business and neighborhoods, houses the small restaurant. Easy to miss, but we will go out of our way from now on - we won't miss it, or... Delicious food! The crawfish poboy sandwich was plentiful with tasty crawfish. The etoufee was good too. I lived in Louisiana for a year and good Cajun is always a treat to find. The staff are friendly, inviting and fun. Everyone checked on me as they passed through. It was a blessing! Must stop by anytime you are near Indianapolis.

My son and I got some food to-go because we were late to somewhere else. Had the fried catfish wrap with Cole slaw, red beans and rice, and bread pudding. All was delicious, wish we dined in. Definitely going to stop here every time we come through Indy.

People brag about Yatz, but they're not in the same universe as Papa Roux. Tons of choices, great sides (included with entree) and helpful, eclectic staff. EAT UP!

An old friend who'd just gotten remarried came to visit, and we knew they'd enjoy Papa Roux's! Now only did we all chow down on catfish or alligator Po-boy sandwiches, we ate unlimited sides till we were stuffed, with the Coup de Grace being that tasty bread pudding! They enjoyed it so much, they added their names to the wall!... More

If you like Cajun food....hell, if you like good food period, you should check this place out. The atmosphere is cool, the staff is pleasant and efficient and the owner is engaged. One of my favorite restaurants in the entire USA. I stop there several times when I visit Indianapolis on business...and I could go anywhere and to more expensive... More

Great Cajun Food, best in city along with Yays. Different menus, love the muffalata here. A great deal for dinner or lunch with one price for entree with all you can eat sides. Rustic, unpretentious interior.

The atmosphere was kind of rough looking and we were not optimistic when we cam in, but the menu was interesting and after we started eating we enjoyed the food immensely. The Crawfish Etouffee was great and my wife loved her Catfish Po'Boy. Ill probably try the Gator or Oyster Po'Boy next time.
