Food and service were AMAZING! We had filet mignon, New York strip, mashed potatoes, oysters, greens, mushrooms, and a small dessert cup. Every dish was 10/10!!!! They have valet parking which is directly in front of the restaurant so you do not have to worry about a potential door ding from a parking garage. There is a however a parking garage directly next to the restaurant if you are looking to stay downtown longer than just for dinner. They offer both table and booth seating. Make call ahead to reserve a booth if you would like one to ensure you can be seated at one. Food was priced very fairly for a top notch outstanding restaurant! . I had read some reviews where people complained over pricing prior to our arrival. I honestly don’t understand the comments regarding that! We travel all over, you are paying for the food quality, the dining experience, ambience, and service. Our waiter gave us advice on the food offerings as well as things do potentially do downtown. Both the front door manager as well as the table floor manager stopped by our table , thanking us for being there and asking us how our dinner was going etc.. all three employees were extremely inviting, kind, and personable. Next time we are in Indianapolis we will certainly eat here again! I appreciate that they made my husband’s birthday dinner such a wonderful experience!

My review will be the 129th one. Out of all of those, this will be their 115th five star review so that should tell you something. I mean this completely when I say that this was one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Period. We had reservations for 8 of us late at night on a Thursday night and the entire restaurant was full. We were brought to a beautiful private room. I don't know how we lucked out in getting that, but it made an excellent experience even better. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. We ordered several appetizers, all of which were great. One of the appetizers was shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were literally the largest shrimp I've ever seen. With it was a cocktail sauce that had a lot of horseradish sauce in it. Apparently this is a regional thing to have extra horseradish in it but I will say of all the restaurants we ate at that week, this was the tamest one. If you don't like it tame, it comes with an additional ramekin of horseradish. I don't know if it's specifically because we ordered shrimp or that's just what they do after appetizers, but they gave us each a plate with a warm/damp towel and a lemon wedge on it to cleanse our hands. Everybody in the group ordered a steak and they all loved it. I was the outlier and ordered veal which was just wow. I'm shaking my head writing this just thinking about how good it was. The eye appeal on everything was perfect. We had several sides for the table as well, all of which were wonderful. We all had numerous rounds of drinks which were good. We all ordered dessert too which we shouldn't have but were all glad we did because it was all delicious. This is a fancy restaurant so obviously it's expensive, but the experience and quality of food you get is well worth the money. If you need a restaurant for an anniversary, to propose, to impress, a birthday, anything fancy, please do yourself a favor and eat here. Just make sure you make a reservation plenty of time in advance so you can get in. Thank you, Tony's, for an incredible experience!

The bartender, food, server, and Server assistant were terrific. Service was very attentive and personable. We did make a reservation and were about 20 minutes early so the hostess let us know we would be seated a little closer to our reservation time. She directed us to the bar to wait. Once our reservation time came and went, I had to go back to the hostess and ask about the table. The table was ready. So i’m not sure why they didn’t come to get us. Food came perfectly timed and mostly perfectly cooked. My crab cake was a bit black on top. I saw others so I know that was likely not typical. The server was very sweet to bring us a delicious chocolate mousse dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We would highly recommend!

Living in downtown Indy, I used to recommend this place to everyone. I haven’t been in a while and we went tonight. Wow, has it changed. I would not recommend to anyone now. The food is good but nothing you can’t get anywhere else in a chain restaurant. It’s lost its special place for me and turned into an over priced places for conventions and visitors. The restaurants on Mass Ave are definitely more worth a visit for foodies and people that want to pay for superior food plus service. When you spend over $200 for 2, you expect more and it’s not Tony’s. It used to be but not worth the visit anymore. I’m sad to have to write this review. It’s just a weird vibe now. Like a factory!

I have eaten at Tony’s numerous times and chalked up my last meal there over the summer to simply being short staffed. Unfortunately a return visit there simply reinforced my prior visit that the quality of food and service has simply gone into decline. Our server was slow in her efforts and it was 15 minutes from when my way over cooked steak was delivered to our table before she came back to see the issues. A second steak was delivered which was clearly rushed that it was burned and dry. The tuna appetizer continues to be spot on and is a must try. The sea bass that was ordered was flavorless and Luke warm but again, the server was not present. Bill was $600 for the four of us without my steak being charged so it is pricey and my last two experiences here left me surprised as how such a fantastic place when it opened, is now a shadow of its old self.

I had a great solo dinner here back in June 2022 before heading back to California via Amtrak. As someone who grew up in Indy going to the "famous" steakhouse down the street, it was nice to see another downtown and just as delicious - if not better. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the charming conversation with the bar staff and also met a really cool couple that I ended up sharing drinks and laughs with. I started with a glass of prosecco (would have rather seen Champagne available by the glass, honestly, or a nice California sparkler like Roederer. I've come to accept Indiana is prosecco country!) which was OK. I had a half bottle of Duckhorn Merlot for dinner, which always hits the spot. For a starter, I had the HUGE crabcake - largest I've ever had! Pure crab and no filler. For my entree, I asked the bartender if a petite filet was available (it's not on the menu) and he went to the kitchen and asked the Chef is a small cut was available - it was! My steak was perfectly medium rare with a side of yummy fried onions. I also enjoyed mashed potatoes with it. Tony's is a beautiful restaurant and well worth the visit for business, special occasions, or a "treat yo'self" dinner. I'll be back when visiting Indy again.

I decided to go to Tony's based on online reviews during the Gallaher Grand Prix weekend. Our sever, Bill, greeted us warmly and explained everything on the menu. He was very attentive but not obtrusive. Michael, the manager, came by and spoke with us as well. He was extremely nice and helpful for us making future reservations at Tony's. Now on to the food. We started with the Mussels. The Mussels came out in an absolutely huge pot and were paired excellently with a tomato based broth and chorizo sausage. We couldn't finish the whole thing. My wife got the short ribs with horseradish potatoes, and I got the 22 ounce bone-in ribeye. The short ribs were a large portion with enough potatoes for us to share. The short ribs were perfectly cooked, tender and made for a great second day meal. The ribeye was probably if not the best steak I have ever had out. Cooked medium to release more of the marbling into the meat made the flavoring incredible. Again, there was enough for a second day meal. We passed on dessert due to the large portions. To top the evening off there was a jazz combo playing which was very good and just the right volume. A wonderful evening of great and friendly service, great wine, great music and incredible food all made for a very memorable experience. Thank you Tony's of Indianapolis!

This place has first class service. I was organising a dinner for a group travelling from New Zealand for the Indy 500 and dealt with Dana. She was absolutely amazing to deal with in the lead up to our trip and helped with everything from timings to menus selection. She really is a gem. On the day of our booking (Race Day), the heavens opened and there was a 4 hour delay in the start of the race. Dana again, was so accommodating and helpful and did everything possible to continue to put the needs of our group first. She really is fabulous. Thanks Dana for all your help. We will definitely be back to Tony's next time we come for the Indy 500!

This was our first dining experience in Indianapolis since COVID restrictions started. The six of us are retired and live in Bloomington and we go to Indianapolis for dinners at nice restaurants. We have been to many of the other restaurants and decided to try Tony’s because they had excellent reviews. We were not disappointed. We were able to park in a garage next door to the restaurant with access to the restaurant without going outside. The restaurant was elegant with white tablecloths and the tables were not on top of each other. Our server, Alexander Williams was excellent. He said he had tried everything on the menu and would be happy to answer and questions or make recommendations. He also helped us narrow down our wine selections. Everyone had a steak or sea bass and we all thought our entrees were delicious and cooked just as we requested. Salads and oysters were very good. The sides we ordered were generous as Alexander told us they would be and big enough to share. The manager came to our table to see if everything was okay and visited with us a little while which was very nice. He told us about the owner and the other two restaurant locations. Our dining experience was not rushed and our water glasses were always filled as they were emptied. The creme brûlée was a perfect end to the meal. We have found our new favorite restaurant in Indianapolis and look forward to going back.

I cannot say enough about Tony's. I was in town for the Bills Indy game and we stayed at Embassy Suites so it was a perfect location. Went to Tony's the first night with a group of 4 and was super impressed with the food that we wanted to go again on Sunday. I didn't make a reservation until that day, and they were extremely gracious and accommodating and were able to fit in 30 people on a Sunday at 8pm. WOW and the service was impeccable which was extremely impressive for a last minute reservation. And the food, it all was amazing, EVERYONE IS still talking about it. Highly recommend. I would go back to Indy just for Tony's!

We dined at Tony's this past summer, and had a wonderful experience. This past Saturday 12/19/20 not so much. At Tony's to celebrate our son's college graduation. Just the three of us. An out of state family member had called the restaurant earlier in the day wanting to send a dessert or something to our table, was told they cant accept credit cards over the phone? Restaurant was not packed. We had a nice booth table. Server was just so so, (needed to ask for silverware when our food arrived, no offer to pepper our salads). For such a higher priced restaurant one would have expected such attention to detail! Server asked if we were celebrating something, we said a college graduation. Several times over the course of our meal we assume the GM (he never introduced himself) stopped at our table, "how's it going, what ya celebrating" so we told him. You think they would send a little dessert over to our table but no. That would have been a nice touch. We saw the owner of the restaurant walking around chatting it up with tables.....No Mask! That was very surprising. So the food was good, it's pricey, so one would think the service would be much better. To end the experience, we valet parked, somehow the valet had startled my wife and son as he was running around our vehicle and another one. He did apologize. Over all we left full, about $400 poorer and rather disappointed.

Went with the wife for a celebratory dinner back in February and it was a truly great meal. Server was Jay and from start to finish his service was impeccable but what was better was that everyone who supported was just as good. We started with the crab cake which was literally the best I have ever eaten. It’s one crab cake but easily big enough to share. The wife had the the braised short rib and the meat could have been cut by a strong breeze it was so tender! I had the filet and again one of the best eaten. Honestly great meal all round.

The meal started with a crab cake that was unequaled by another. It was more of a crab hay mound! For dinner we had salads, filet mignon and one had shrimp. Mouthwatering and served to perfection. The filet practically melted in your mouth. While we were eating the owner and managers came by to make sure we were being properly cared for. What a nice touch! On Friday and Saturday evenings there is a small jazz trio that performs a variety of jazz and contemporary songs to set the mood for the dining experience.

A month ago my daughter and I were in Indy and visited Tony's. The food was fabulous! The shrimp in their shrimp cocktail were enormous. Their short ribs were the best I ever had. The New York shortcake was outstanding. Matthew our waiter explained dishes to us and helped us pick out our wines, he was so very pleasant. A month later when I was visiting my daughter again in Lafayette we drove 62 miles to Tony's for another amazing dinner. This time Alexander waited on us and he gave us the perfect amount of expert attention. Arriving just when we needed him but not bothering. He was terrific!

First timers, I took my son and his wife for his birthday. We were running a bit late and my son was concerned that we might lose our reservation. We pulled up to the restaurant and they had valet parking. Problem solved and it was very reasonable. The restaurant was very open and airy. The menu had enough choices to please all of us. The food was so delicious. They brought out wet hot cloths with lemon after our mussel appetizer. We had a wonderful time and we look forward to going back many times.
