Try the lemon risotto. It's delicious. Served in a tasty little cup with a cheesy topping - it's mouthwatering! The rainbow trout was delicious - served with veggies. We also tried the fettuccini with chicken artichoke meatballs. I liked the meatballs better than the fettuccini - it was served with a tomato sauce that was fresh-tasting but a little bland.... Chef driven local food prepared in eyesight of dinners. This is a class act of service, food quality and exceptional flavor fusions. Recommend this for anyone wanting to impress a business associate, date or anyone else who enjoys superb food.

Oakley's promotes itself as featuring French cuisine. I don't think so. Oakley's is merely trying to compete with deservedly highly praised creative cuisines around town. Bacon wrapped apricots? Good if you like crisp bacon, the dominant flavor and texture. Toad-in-the-hole salad? Nearly unpalatable. And more an entree than a salad. Sherbet/ice cream array? Chunks of ice in one and flavors... More

Dishes are fresh and creative. Service very good and atmosphere conducive to conversation. Menu is small but a great deal of variety

Chef Oakley is a tremendous talent hidden in northwest Indianapolis. My husband and my in-laws celebrated my birthday at Oakley's Bistro this past week. It was the first time for each of them. My husband's meatloaf with chili sauce was met with great acclaim. My mother-in-law ate every bite of her delicious tilapia, and her husband found the portion of... More

Last night I introduced three friends to Oakley's. They were impressed. From the appetizers of olives and nuts (separate, of course) to the salads and entrees, this bistro has it all. The 7 ounce carafe of wine as well as the house old fashions were the beginning. The spinach salad followed by the meatloaf and short ribs entree were, as... More

Oakley's has been on my to-try list for years. It has rave reviews everywhere. Overall, I was disappointed. It's a small bistro that was more casual than I was expecting from the menu prices. Our table was ready exactly on time. The menu had some interesting and original items (Memphis Egg Rolls, salad served on bread). I ordered the Wild... More

It was packed the week before and the reviews were good so we made reservations. Plenty of open tables that night the menu started off with meatloaf for $23.75. Fancy toppings, purée potatoes not mashed. We had the appetizer and the fettuccine at $18 and three meatballs at 575 extra. No Tangueray gin but something made by Bombay but not... More

Beautifully presented dish, with wonderful ingredients in a unique recipe-- altogether a delicious meal. All three of us had different dishes and felt that same way about our experience. The atmosphere was very pleasant, cozy, but not noisy. (We could easily hear each other in normal conversation.) Service was prompt and helpful. Everybody was friendly. A truly delightful experience.

Over the last 6 months 2 more visits to Oakley's. The place is a little crowded but once you get food on the table it is something you forget. No dish is just one item. It is at least 5 different items mixed together in a way that will surprise and please you. My message is that no matter what... More
