We are Saturday breakfast or brunch people who like trying new places. Although we had driven past the strip mall with Ari's several times, we hadn't tried it out yet. I wish we wouldn't have tried it this past Saturday. From the moment you walk...in the door, Ari's is confusing. The colors seem to be Mexican even down to their coffee cup designs, but nothing else indicates that. French pictures hang on the wall with a huge American flag occupying one end of the restaurant. The overall decor is just plain sad -- old tables and chairs, dingy floor, weird arrangements of various pictures. Nothing is cohesive at all. But, a restaurant can be poorly designed and have great food -- making it a great restaurant. Not the case here. I ordered ham eggs benedict with hashbrowns. The eggs were over easy and not poached. The hollendaise sauce was bland. The ham was probably heated up in the microwave because didn't look or taste as if it had been heated on the griddle. And, most importantly, the English muffin wasn't heated or toasted at all. I ate my first part but left the second because it simply was not good. The hashbrowns, however, were great. My husband ordered a platter with eggs, breakfast meat, and pancakes. He said his meal was pretty good. He said it wasn't anything special, but it was fine. For two breakfasts, a coffee, and a Coke, we paid $38. Whoa! I simply cannot recommend Ari's at all.More
