We saw this restaurant mentioned on an Indy Food group and decided to make the effort to get there and try it. We had driven to Cincinnati for the day and hit the restaurant on the way home. We are very glad we did! We...were there on a Friday evening and both of us decided to go with the buffet ($14.99). It had chicken, fish, shrimp, mashed and baked potatoes, green beans, fried biscuits w/apple butter and a variety of salads that we did not try this time. They serve you and provide ample portions on each trip. They also did an excellent job on keeping the food stocked and fresh. The chicken was as good as the hype. It was so flavorful and moist. The shrimp and fish and the side were also good. My favorite thing about it was it didn't taste like they poured a salt shaker on everything. Good food does not need a lot of salt and they nailed the food. We did get a piece of pie to go as many around us were also doing. We enjoyed it too. It is not a huge restaurant and was beginning to get crowded by 5pm (opened at 4pm) Although technically it is wheelchair accessible- the ramp is extremely steep and the entry door has a bit of a threshold to get over. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We will definitely make a return trip.More

Their fried chicken is excellent 👍, and the homemade mashed potatoes and green beans are seasoned just right! The homemade pies are FABULOUS! My slightest complaint is the need for more fresh veggies such as cooked carrots, lima beans or other cooked veggies. The salad...bar or buffet line is very short with little room to expand. All in all we will be back!More

Although I live in SC now, I grew up 30 minutes from this place. Can’t believe it has taken me this long to discover it, Best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten. The fried biscuits with apple butter are delicious as are the homemade pies. Beautiful...country setting. Family run. Very friendly folks. Definitely will go back when I’m “back home in Indiana again.”More

Great service! We were passing through Millville ( no, really) and saw a really cool building that said Restaurant. So, we googled the name and read the menu on line. We called and placed our order. As we were sitting on the parking lot, we...noticed the wonderful smell coming from the kitchen. When our order was ready, we were ready to eat. The Tenderloin sandwiches were awesome. We highly recommend this stop . Actually it would be a really great destination.More

Went here today for lunch in milhausen ind (pop 100) at Stones family restaurant. Only business in town. Scenic drive,It use to be a speakeasy. Huge building, pool outside, beautiful carved bar, rocking chairs on front porch. Famous for fried chicken and homemade pies. Food...and service was great First time visitor and we will be a return visitor. Joe and Donna, owners are friendly and even gave us a tour and shared the history, can’t say enough good things about them and their business. My husband is a fried chicken lover and he gave his approval. I had choc pie, husband had peanut butter pie both winners. Had some kind of warm cinnamon biscuit with apple butter it was the fantastic. Get out and visit this placeMore

We've been here many times, it's our "go to" place. We are always welcomed when we enter. The chicken is always hot and ready. The homemade pies are a big hit, you are really missing out if you don't get a slice. If you leave...here hungry, it's your own fault.More

We moved to Greensburg a few years ago and happened upon Stones. We didn’t know what to expect but walked away feeling like we just had a homemade dinner with family. The food and service was EXCELLENT and the owners made us feel welcomed. We’ve...visited many times since bringing various family and friends. I highly recommend Stones!More

This family restaurant reminds me of the now-closed Doe Run Inn in Brandenburg, KY or Huber’s Family Restaurant in Starlight, IN. A great place to bring mom on her special day or take the family for excellent fried chicken or fish. Visiting on a Friday...evening after visiting Brown County, IN, the buffet had a lot to choose from; Fried Chicken, Fried Fish, Popcorn Shrimp, full salad bar, Fried Biscuits and apple butter, mashed potatoes and green beans. Left totally full!More

If you are looking for some down home country comfort food, great courteous staff, reasonable pricing and delicious homemade pie then you need to check out Stone's Family Restaurant! This place has a buffet for just $12 per adult! THE best fried chicken and THE...ABSOLUTE best homemade lasagna I have ever tasted! The pies are delicious, reminding me of my Grandma's homemade pies and the staff and owners truly go above and beyond to ensure that you have a delightful and delicious experience here. In my opinion, you can't go wrong if you choose to eat here. My boyfriend has a severe shellfish allergy and they even made him all fresh food from the buffet to ensure he would not have to worry about an allergic reaction due to 2 shrimp items on the buffet that evening. I just simply cannot say enough nice things about this restaurant or its staff and owners. Give it a chance, I promise you will become a return and loyal customer.More

Joe & Donna own and operate Stones. They are some of the most wonderful people as is all the staff. The food is great to say the least. Buckets of beer are pretty nice also! The treat I specially enjoy is the gizzards and livers....We usually get an order of each as an appetizer when we are there with friends. There is family dining and also a bar area for the over 21 crowd. They are separated in case the bar area isn't your scene. PS- Only reason it's not a 5 is they need to do some updating in the restrooms. See you soon Joe & Donna, I think we are headed there tomorrow night (Sat)...!More

Great food, they have a dinner buffet also. If you feel like a beer, there is a bar connected to the restaurant so you can watch the game or you can have your beer at your table. The BBQ buffet is awesome. The liver and...onions in the buffet is awesome also. But if you want the best chicken in Indiana ya gotta go to Millhousen "BAUK BAUK" 🐔🐓More
