I went for lunch to Gerst Haus with a collegae. Service was very friendly. I had the Hauptchef's salad which was really nice. You can order is in lunch size or diner size. I opted for the larger diner size, but that was a bit too ambitious. Simply too big. Taste however was nice, crispy fresh, with good dressing.

We went midweek at lunch and Gerst Haus was packed. The boys wanted meat, so this was a great choice for them. I'm not a huge fan of sausages, so I ordered a veggie plate. The red cabbage is stewed in a spiced apple cider and was surprisingly delicious. The Lima beans are served dry (not soupy, like in the... More

My husband and i visited this establishment on a Sunday for lunch. We always try to find "non-chain" resturants as we travel and the Gerst Bavarian Haus certainly fulfilled that requirement. The atmosphere was great as well as the service. We were promptly seated and our server was quick to bring our drink orders and knowledgeable about the menu. The... More

Loved the food, service and atmosphere of the Gerst Haus. Great selection of beer and great schnitzel! On the higher end of price depending on what you get but well worth it! We go a few times a year and usually meet up with family and friends.

My wife was born and raised in Evansville and we go back regularly for family visits. Gerst Haus is always on our list of restaurants to visit even though it's on the other side of town. The food and service have always been excellent and we have never been disappointed.

Stopped by the Gerst Haus for lunch today. The crowd was pretty good and the atmosphere was great. Sat at a table back by the kitchen and I really enjoyed getting to watch the guys and gals in the kitchen preparing so many delicious looking German dishes. The lunch special was amazing and only around $8.99. A sneaky good item... More
