I love the food at the Gerst Haus. The service is always good. There are so many good dishes with a real German flair. I always have to order the red cabbage as it's my favorite.

The Gerst House had a wonderful sausage sampler that the Chef's son recommended--our waiter. We have eaten at the other location in Nashville, however the food in Evansville is far better. The interior of the building is a work of art itself. It looks like a German Haus. Friendly staff and a good selection of food. Now, the BEER--just sit... More

Loved the atmosphere, set in a very old building with appropriate decor. The menu was interesting to choose from. My only complaint was the chunks of meat in my saurbraten were a little tough (and large) but the sides (spaetzel and cucumbers & onions in a cream sauce) were very good. My friend also had saurbraten but his was soupier... More

Great selections of craft beers. The lunch was very good. I got the cream ale, they served it with ice cold mug. I also had a happy hour drink here yesterday. Good place for good beer.

I always have a sense of uncertainty about The Gerst Haus. I always seem to enjoy the visit and return 4-6 times a year. I would like to become a regular but there are too many other choices in this neighborhood and the Gerst Haus just never completely overwhelmed. Recent visit found the restaurant packed at 6PM and I chose... More

We come here at least once a month, the service is great. The beer is cold and there are so many to choose from. The meals are large and you get alot of food for the price. There is something on the menu for everyone even if you aren't into German food. Go there, eat, and drink....its simply awesome!

My wife and a couple of friends were visiting Evansville last weekend. We needed somewhere to eat so we decided to try the Gerst Haus since we love German food. With great anticipation I ordered the Sauerbraten. I hadn't had this dish in a long time. Unfortunately the Gerst Haus is not the place to order it. All I received... More

Killed some time here while girls did their thing. Get a beer in the punchbowl. Wide variety of beers - more than just German. German food tasted good - brat was excellent.

We visit nearly every week. The food, beverages, service and the atmosphere are all wonderful. You can't go wrong, highly recommend this establishment.
