I guess this a locals place for sure. The restaurant is very small and old. They serve all 3 squares there and everything is what I would call comfort food. We went for breakfast and had to wait a while before being greeted or seated. We ended up spending around $50.00 for two kids and two adults which to me... More

Very friendly service. Pancakes, sausage, eggs, and country ham was good. I got the 6oz chopped steak breakfast and the chopped steak tasted like the meat was going bad. When the waitress picked up our plates she came back to our table and asked me if there was something wrong with the chopped steak and I told her it tasted... More

We went for breakfast because of all the good reviews I read. Beware that if you judge from the outside, you'll never go here. Both inside and out kinda looks like a dive. Could use an update. Very friendly wait staff. I think locals love this place. I had the chili cheese omelet and my fiancé had the pancakes. Three... More

Looking at it from the outside, you'd probably be wondering what's going on. It's a hidden gem of the city, I swear by that. The food is excellent!

We heard about the Cricket with high praise, of home-style dishes and a friendly atmosphere. Our late Sunday dinner was not a disappointment. I really loved the Chicken and Dumplings - can't say I ever really had them before, unless it was processed food - and this is the definition of comfort food. They have a "senior" portion, which is... More

Roast Beef and gravy served over dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, fried cabbage with cornbread for $10.95. It was enough food for 2 people. Very good especially the fried cabbage. I'll probably order the senior plate next time.

I've dined here several times, haven't been disappointed. Corn bread is sweet, but still very good. Staff very friendly. Clean. Prices great for size of portions. Atmosphere simple, clean.

Many publications have awarded the Cross Eyed Cricket as the best breakfast in town. I cannot dispute this. My son and I split the big dan and everything was well prepared and quickly prepared.

This is definitely a hole in the wall, mom and pop diner. The decor is old, but the food is delicious and the service even better. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We went for breakfast on Sunday morning and really enjoyed ourselves. If you're looking for something local with that "at home" feeling, this place is a must!
