Visited this restaurant for a business meal with a large group. We were given an upstairs private room which was light and airy. Food was good. Service great. Good selection of craft beers and knowledgeable waiter helped steer me through the options (some very strong beers - be careful). Would recommend for this type of function.

Met family there and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the food. We had a charcuterie plate with 5 options that were fantastic! Great bottle of cab from Double T.

The crisp/tender duck breast was cooked to perfection, while the mussels were full of flavor and (surprisingly) fresh. Will return for sure!

Ok place in a neat college town. Went here for #2 son's B school graduation. Ok place, Interesting waitor. Back staff was slow. Wine list is off on the vintages. Ok food, for kind of high pricea t$94 a head including a just average Barolo.

This is still one of my top choices in Bloomington. I took staff here recently for an end of semester and pre-graduation dinner. Service was seamless and food was delicious. It remains a little upscale, limiting the clientele and the noise. I find it excellent for business. I had the duck confit salad as my entre and loved it. My... More

I really love the food at Finch's and the atmosphere but I am so annoyed when they close down during IUB's breaks. I mean, come on! How many college students are paying your prices for your meals? Seriously? Townies and visitors would be far more likely to buy your wood fired pizzas, small plates, pastas, and entrees than college students.... More

Good day, Tammyjo~ Thank you for writing about Finch's, I am so happy that you love our food! I wanted to respond to your comments on being closed, I too, feel like it is a treat to stay open during the IUBreaks because we get to see some regulars that only come out when the town slows down a bit.... I've eaten at several places in Bloomington and this is one of my favorites so far. The atmosphere is clean and nice. The service was very good. They had a variety of beers and an extensive wine list. The food is fresh from the farm, and cooked to perfection. I had lamb stew over pasta, which was flavorful and melted... More

Eight of us (five university students) had a very nice meal at Finch's. I booked the reservation very late (Saturday morning of the reservation) but the staff was very helpful in finding us a table. We arrived on time and were seated right away. The Restaurant was full, but didn't feel too crowded. The beer list was well thought out,... More

Look, I worked in the restaurant industry in Bloomington for 8 years and there's no place better than Finch's. You will get the best steak, mussels, rotating freshly caught fish, pizza, beer, salads, desserts... you get the drift. Oh did I mention the pizza and beer? With an always rotating draft selection and the 2nd best selection of bottles (only... More

Visiting for the first time. Read about it in Bloomington tourism magazine. Sounded good. But received poor service by waitress and too long of a wait time for dinner to arrive. Food tasted ok after we finally got it. But Nothing special. Plus $28 for roasted chicken does not mean a single chicken breast. I do no care if you... More
