They have pretty good Vietnamese Pho, although not really authentic one. I prefer their Burmese dishes like catfish with onion and tamarin sauce. Nice staff and quick service. Thumb up for them!

This restaurant has been in business for nine years, but I had never eaten there until it was next up on our group's circuit of Fourth Street restaurants. It offers an expansive Burmese menu. The food was delicious and there was no skimping on ingredients. I had a coconut curry with tofu, and there was so much tofu I couldn't... More

Excellent dishes, particularly the tea salad and the beef. Courteous service. A very good value, should be busier than it is. We will go back.

We stumbled upon this restaurant, and what a find! The owner was really friendly and helped us identify the most authentic Burmese dishes on the menu (there are also Chinese and Thai dishes, for those folks who want something more familiar). The tea leaf salad was incredible, and the yellow beans with fried onions was truly amazing. Try this place!

Well-prepared dishes; different flavors, people like the pho. Excellent tea leaf salad that you will not find elsewhere. A very good value given the quality of food as well as the portion sizes.

I usually order the pho here--I would daresay that it is the best in Bloomington. The broth is very savory, just the way I like it. I also like the atmosphere, as the walls are covered with Burmese art. When I went in for pho recently with a friend, there were barely enough bean sprouts for the two of us,... More

I certainly don't understand why anyone would want or even choose to close in the middle of the day. I really think that is asinine and don't know how they think they are better by closing and not making money that could be made I thought the idea of having a business was to make money not lose it .... I love trying food from different cultures, so I was excited when I was invited to Mandalay. I ordered a typical vegetarian dish of stir fried rice and veggies. It was delicious, but needed more seasoning (maybe some salt?). It reminded me a lot of Thai and Indian food. My favourite part of the lunch was the "Mandalay Fritters" they... More

I have never in all of my years smelled or tasted an entree that was nastier! I ordered the Chicken Curry and thought I might seriously hurl when she put it on the table in front of me. The smell made my stomach lurch. We had guests with us so I was in a very awkward position. I tried to... More

My husband comes to Bloomington every year for work and every time we visit Mandalay. I used to say nothing but great things and considered it one of my favorite places to eat. The food was excellent, service pleasant and quick. The place has a tacky décor but it never bothered me since everything else was so great. We went... More
