From the service to the food this establishment was a complete let down and by far the worst dining experience since I relocated to Indiana. The veal was inedible, the Fettuccine Alfredo was tasteless and the soft drinks were flat. We waited over 45 minutes...for the meal to arrive and were ignored by the staff until we inquired on our meal. Never, EVER again.More
We arrived at 5:15 for a 5:30 reservation. We were seated immediately. Service went down hill from there. Took forever for our salads to arrive. Then, at least 20 to 30 minutes later we were told that our entre would be there soon so we...requested that they bring us the bottle of wine that we had ordered for our meal. It was another 20 minutes, or more, before the entrees arrived....the wine bottle already 1/2 empty. When done eating, waited a long time for boxes to take left overs home and them a good 15 minutes to complete payment after giving the waitress my credit card. It was 7:30 when we left the restaurant. YES, dining should be an experience, but not this long, in our opinion. The food was acceptable but we have had much better lasagna and chicken marsala at many other restaurants. We use these menu items because we like them and to rate a restaurant on our first visit.....in this case, we will not be returning. Lastly.......when the bill is presented they show tipping suggestions.....as so many restaurants do, their recommendation includes a tip on the total bill.....ie a tip on the sales tax in addition to the food and beverage. THIS IS NOT RIGHT....the tip is figured on the food and beverage, NOT the tax. So, realistically I should be giving this restaurant 2 to 2 1/2 rating instead of 3. Of course, Trip Advisor would not accept a rating of 2 1/2. Good restaurant for people who aren't into the best food and service.More
I’m somewhat biased. I went to school with the owner. I was teasing her about her food not expecting I would be blown away by the quality. We were KIDS growing up together. WOW, the food is AMAZING ❤️❤️❤️
This family-owned treasure serves extraordinary food and offers an assortment of outstanding wines. I have been there three or four times in the past year for both dinner and lunch. I plan to go again soon! The food and service have never disappointed.
We were so happy to see on their website that Napoli Villa was open for dinner on Valentine's Day as it is our favorite restaurant. On a very cold day we were warmly seated. The menu is slightly different than our last visit, but all...the favorites are still available. Mary, our server, brought us water and then gave us time to look over the menu. We noted the beautiful roses on each table--even the ones that are not currently open for seating. As always we opted for the family style antipasto salad which we believe is THE best salad available anywhere in Indiana. My wife ordered a new dish (now a favorite) the salmon marsala which was perfectly prepared and balanced in flavors between the salmon and the sauce. After a bite I agreed that it was indeed excellent. I chose an old favorite the chicken piccata (pollo di piccata) and it was delicious. I am quite sure I could eat it monthly and not grow tired of it. We both got the fettuccini alfredo as our side pasta and it was terrific too--good enough to eat as a main dish. And of course in true Italian fashion the bread was fresh and hot. For dessert, my wife was delighted to get the last piece of tiramisu...she shared a couple bites with me and I selected a "simple" sundae with whipped cream, cherry, chocolate sauce, and a lady finger and a very good cup of coffee. There are a lot of restaurants we like in Central and Southern Indiana, but few we truly love. Napoli is one of those. Service has always been gracious, prices are VERY reasonable, we love the decor, and we have never had a bad or even average dish. Already looking forward to our next visit.More
This was second time we visited in December after Christmas WITH a reservation. It took 15 minutes to get a server to stop by for the first time after we had to ask someone. We were disappointed once again then even when our orders were...taken it still took forever to get bread, more drinks everything. No waters refilled until we asked.More
Outstanding service, wait staff and esp bartender "Jonathan" --authentic Italian pasta dishes served in a timely manner, high quality esp Italian wedding soup and Napoli's bread/salads-comfortable, pleasant dining experience--relaxing, no rush, service w a smile--cozy decor--true Italian comfort food
While in town for a conference, 8 of us went to dinner here. Service was very friendly and prompt, food was delicious (omg that bread), and the ambiance was just lovely and exactly what we were looking for. Was so bummed they were out of...tiramisu, so I will be back to try it next time I'm in Indy!More
We like Fazoli's for quick pasta dishes and we enjoy Olive Garden for some unique dishes and even The Old Spaghetti Factory for spaghetti, but when we really want Italian there is only one place to go: Napoli Villa. We made a visit this past...Saturday for our daughter's choice of last dinner before she heads back to college. As always we were pleased. It was crowded and as noisy as we have ever seen and because it was busy our entrees took a bit longer, but oh were they worth it. We started with the antipasto salad as we always do. In a word superb. We got fresh--I mean hot bread! For her entree my wife decided to sample the shrimp gnocchi special and boy was it special. The pasta was delicious and the shrimp cooked just right. I went back to an old standby the pollo al marsala. What a great choice and the fettuccine on the side was perfect. My daughter enjoyed her manicotti and my mother-in-law her lasagna. We split two good sized tiramisus for dessert. Our waitress, Sherry, was friendly and professional as well. Do yourself a favor try this family owned multiple generous place for authentic Italian!More
Quality ingredients, reasonable prices, friendly staff (talking about you, Laura) and a charming decor makes this place a true Indy (Beech Grove Main Street, actually) Hidden Gem. The Antipasta salad was lightly dressed and very good. The cannoloni was absolutely superb. The only drawback was...that they were out of the home made Tiramisu. Guess we will have to come back!More
This is genuine real Italian from 3 generation family recipes. service is a little slow at times but worth the wait. The shrimp dishes are so tender. Servers have all been very nice.
This was the first time I'd eaten at this restaurant and have to reserve my comments as I only ordered the wedding soup and house salad. Both were good as was the bread. Not extraordinary though as it tasted just like what I get at...Olive Garden. So until I taste the Lasagna or spaghetti I'll just give it an average rating. The decor was interesting and looked exactly how I would picture an authentic Italian restaurant.More
Have now been twice in a month, and have not been disappointed. The first time I had the tortellini in an excellent sauce. Second time I had lasagna. Antipasto salad is good, but too much dressing for me, so next time I will ask to...have the dressing on the side. Bread is above average. They have a nice dessert--the bomb--sherbet egg shape with an outer layer of white chocolate. (These are big enough for 4 people). Good way to end the meal. I have had the cannoli (average for a cannoli), but I like the "bomb" much better. Service was good--prompt, not too intrusive. Bill for two with one glass of wine, desert, and before tip was $50.More
We visited Napoli for our first Dinner Club. We had a great time. The anti pasta salad and bread were delicious. We enjoyed a bottle of Lambrusco. We found the Vodka pasta (medium) to be quite spicy and the veal dish a little pasty. The...spaghetti, manicotti, lasagna, chicken cacciatore were delish! One of our group got the Spumante and LOVED it!More
