The inside decor is beautiful. Not your typical buffet design. This place is classy. Beautifully set buffet table that was attended to with care continuously. Wonderful variety of salads. Some very unique that I will try to duplicate at home. Two soups. Variety of sweets, jello, pudding etc. A very good selection of main dishes, perogi, potato pancakes, stuffed cabbage,... More

Helens Deli is at 339 Irving Park which is the address listed on here: the Restaurant is about a mile east as you go over the railroad tracks. We went to the buffet restaurant and it was great. We are customers of the infamous Apple downtown Chicago and we really didn't know what to expect at Helens 'way out in... More

This is a buffet, but there was no "welcoming" committee telling us what to do. The food is definitely homemade authentic Polish cooking. The price, I found out at check out was only $10.95 during the week, Friday is a weekday. I was disappointed to find that we were 2 of 4 people in the quaint and cozy, small venue.... More

Real food at a buffet? Correct. Real. Polish. Cuisine. At a buffet no less. Someone's mother or grandmother or aunt prepares the food in the back, brings it to the station and you eat. Food is smothered in tradition and love. Nothing is healthy besides maybe the lettuce station and I like that. Fantastic food, decent pricing and a loving... More

We were visiting Chicago and heard about the great Polish food In Chicagoland. We live in Denver and Polish food is hard to find. I didn't want a buffet at first but it turned out wonderful. We tried many of the dishes including sauerkraut, pickled beets, stuffed cabbage, roast beef, pierogis, cheese blintzes, potato salad , potato pancakes and really yummy deserts.... More

I ate there on a Sunday and it was quite awkward. There were about 20 people in the restaurant besides me, and I was the only one speaking english. Everyone else was speaking german or some other language. I felt out of place and probably will not return to this location.

Pleasant atmosphere, can hear each other talk. Buffet had lots of choices; fish, chicken, meat, blintzes, potato pancakes, perogies, make your own salad, desserts. Only thing was, the four big eaters who entered before us kept cleaning up the blintzes, perigies, and potato pancakes, and they were slow to replenish. Filling meal though!

I was told that Helen's Buffet was good, and I am glad that I tried them out. The food was fresh, and service was good. I was very happy with the overall experience. A good value for a Polish Buffet.

Best polish food in the area. They offer a variety of Polish American specialties. Great soups and very good potato pancakes.

This is a restaurant I started visiting several years ago. The restaurant hasn't changed that much after new owners took over. They offer a buffet or menu items. The staff speaks English and Polish. The food is delicious and priced fairly. I like their stuffed cabbage and chicken soup. They offer other Polish foods like pirogi, potato pancakes, sour kraut,... More
