We have given this place a couple of tries and I think we are done. This is sub par sushi. They have really nice, eclectic sounding rolls but the execution falls flat. Our sweet potato roll had raw sweet potato in it, made it extremely hard to eat and unappetizing (I have never had it raw anywhere else). The other... More

Great sushi, try the crispy tuna, and wide variety of sake.Very approachable menu. Very good service. Oh yeah, unusual, but delicious desserts.

Was very disappointed in this restaurant, as we have visited other downtown Wheaton establishments and been pleased. Service was pleasant enough, although oddly slow given the number of customers. Our sushi selection was adequate, although the roll seemed small for the price. On the other hand, we both had soup selections - my wife had udon, which was oddly flavored... More

Sushi Mono is one of our favorite traditions on Dickens of a Christmas kickoff night - the Friday after Thanksgiving. We like to arrive for dinner in time to watch the Christmas parade as they come around the corner, from the warm cozy atmosphere of Sushi Mono. This year we had the spice tuna ceviche, the salmon belly, and a... More

I'll start with the "great" part. We were seated right away there was plenty of space to sit for us on a Saturday night. Our waitress came within 10 minutes, and took our drink order. It took a little bit for the drinks to arrive but we were able to look at the menu. The sushi menu is what I... More

The 2 times I've been here we almost had the restaurant to ourselves and it was a Friday night. The rolls are great and the fish is fresh. The squash soup is also very tasty!

I had always wanted to try this place and I stopped here for lunch before I got my haircut in downtown Wheaton. I went with the lunch special where I got the Miso soup, a salad, 4 pieces of a California roll, and chicken teriyaki. I usually could care less about the Miso soup but I liked it here. The... More

I've tried sushi at multiple places in the burbs and am constantly disappointed, EXCEPT for at Sushi Mono. It's a great atmosphere, the wait staff is top-notch and the sushi "fresh". This is my go to Sushi house in the suburbs. Nice wine selection.

Sit at the sushi bar and watch the chefs create your order. Delicious traditional sushi creations with ginger and season. Everything is fresh and delicious. The decor and ambiance is e enjoyable. Nice & quiet for conversation.

Sushi Mono, a fine dining Japanese contemporary restaurant, opened on Chicago’s birthday March 4th, 2010 in the heart of Downtown Wheaton. We feature both traditional Japanese cuisine such as nigiri and sashimi in addition to a variety of signature blend sushi rolls and cooked kitchen entrees like Filet Mignon, Beef Rib, Sea Bass and Lobster. This combination of traditional and modern dishes offers a distinctive dining experience.
