A wonderful little gem in downtown Wheaton just 2 blocks from the Metra. Serving delicious, homemade dishes using preservative free ingredients and hormone/anti-biotic free beef, pork, bison, chicken and eggs. Fresh fish featured weekly, live music every Monday night, a great wine list and quaint sidewalk dining with alcohol service. We buy from businesses within our community, or from small businesses who are an integral part of their communities and try to have a positive impact on their environment. Opened in 2007, this husband & wife owned restaurant was nominated for Restaurant of the Year in 2010. You will be impressed with the ambiance of the small dining room, the personal, attentive service by the wait staff and the delicious menu options.

First Time, Good Experience

We decided to try something in Wheaton since we usually stick with the Glen Ellyn restaurants. After looking into Wheaton dining options my wife decided we should try Cellar Bistro. Went back recently after a year or more since my last visit. Received a gift certificate or I probably wouldn't have returned as there are now many ther choices in Wheaton. We were the only people at a table at 6:00 on a week night. A few people at the bar, sounded like regulars. Wrapped date appetizer was excellent, entrees... More

Food, service and ambiance are exactly what we want them to be. Plenty of parking available. Always crowded but somehow always feels intimate.

We walked downtown Wheaton last night after the first snow storm of the season hoping we could sit at the bar, not having reservations and we were in luck. Even with slippery roads, people started filling the restaurant. We enjoyed a couple glasses of French chardonnay at the bar and shared crab cakes, flat bread, and dates wrapped in bacon.... More

My husband and I visited on a Sunday evening and had a fabulous dinner. Loved the atmosphere, especially the half-booth tables with comfy pillows. Live music was really nice, especially on a Sunday evening. Service was attentive and friendly. We tried the Spinach Artichoke dip appetizer which was very good. Chips seemed homemade and the dip was hot and delicious.... More

A gift certificate brought us to the Cellar Bistro. We had visited a few years prior and found the experience just "so-so", however, this time, we were impressed with the changes and had a wonderful dining experience. We were glad to have made a reservation on this Saturday night. It is a small venue and the tables and bar were... More

My husband and I visited on a Sunday afternoon. The place was not real busy at that time. the service was ok. The chili was average, but the meat and cheese platter was really good with the wine paring.

Cellar Bistro has a loyal following but it's not my favorite, mostly because of inconsistent service and value. They get "raves" from being original and having good food. On the downside, the kitchen can be slow and portions can be very small for the price. Give it a try and judge for yourself. Last time I went for dinner I... More

Food: My mom and I went for lunch. They have a menu with a section for lunch, a section for dinner, and a section which they serve at both meals. We ordered the quiche and the salmon salad. My salmon salad was an upscale coleslaw-type salad with perfectly cooked salmon. Delish! My mom's veggie quiche was also great and came... More
