Disappointed in this place....wanted to go to Roemertopf in Mascoutah, but they weren't open until 5...so we drove here. Never again. Bland. Meh. I almost cried when I took my first bite of the Jaegerschnitzel....NOTHING compared to Roemertopf. Don't agree> Go to Roemertopf and try their version of whatever you had here....you won't be disappointed!

I love German food so when hubby saw the Groupon, he bought it with me in mind. We drove to tiny Fosters Pond and entered in the back door. Waited several minutes. No one came so we made our way to the dining room and were invited to take a seat. The decor is very overdone. Lots of German/Bavaria style... More

Well, I don't have German in-laws or family recently enough immigrated to know what good German food "ought" to be. I do know that my wife and I both enjoyed our meals which were a welcomed break from what chain restaurants and trendy places offer. It was nice to enjoy something different and unique in a historic place with atmosphere.

Let me start by saying if you make snap judgements about a restaurant by looking around the dining room, don't come to Dreamland Palace without leaving your judgement hat in the car! The decor in this place is flea market vs. yard sale vs. your grandma's attic! Tacky comes to mind, along with dusty and the latter doesn't really belong... More

We took my parents for authentic German food. The selection is impressive; it was hard to choose which schnitzel to get. I found the Alpine Schnitzel to be very good, but the spaetzle didn't come near my mom's homemade spaetzle. The salad bar was a bit lackluster, but the soup was tasty. My husband wasn't impressed with his selection at... More

I've been twice now and it's fantastic. It is authentic German and I love all the little kitch decorations. If you are looking for a great sundown dinner location, the dining room faces west and is stunning. I hate chains and unique places like this need to be treasured. Great Harley stop or family dinner location. The Ripchen was excellent.

Riding the Harley along RT 156 , we seen a German restaurant sign.. Noticed it was lunch time we turned around. So glad we did! The history of this place alone is worth a peek. It was was a stagecoach stop.. We had a friendly conversation with the owner and to our surprise he brought us out a complimentary order... More

My in-laws were German so I know what good German food tastes like....my food was awful! Pork schnitzel had a mushy coating on it...gravy was awful...potato cakes were thin as a dime and greasy....terrible food! Salad bar didn't have anything to make a salad...no lettuce...and soup looked like canned... Don't waste your time or money!

Wife and I went to lunch at Dreamland Palace. Considering the building has been there since 1875 it truly has a mostly German atmosphere. I has an extensive number of German dishes to chose from. Unfortunately you can not experience them all during one visit. Compared to food we've had in Germany it is quite good.

First time visiting. Great meal and friendly staff. A little out of the way but worth the trip. Looked like they had a lot of regulars there for Sunday dinner. I'd recommend that you make a reservation before going.
