We were able to order our takeaway online and select a delivery time. The food arrived precisely on time, despite the atrocious weather, and the food was hot. Thank you. This was our first experience of Jalpari; I suspect it will not be the last.

Me and my partner go to this establishment often and I have to say it’s the best Indian restaurant in Reading The staff are polite and welcoming, the restaurant is clean and inviting plus the food is top quality and reasonably priced. I highly recommend...this place to everyone. Cheers.More
Thank you so much
We are regulars at this superb intimate restaurant, the décor is smart and modern the food is of the highest quality and the staff are very attentive. Mush the owner is a welcoming host and is always interested to hear feed back and act on...it. Whether you pick the value banquet night or choose the regular menu the standard of the food is always cooked and presented to an excellent standard.More
Good food and prompt service as always. Had the all you can eat menu which was good value. Also a good range of drinks. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Would recommend and will definitely return. Think it is the best Indian in the area.
Thank you very much
I just got a delivery and I decided I'd try the North bengal special. It was absolutely wonderful, i thoroughly enjoyed it and it may be the best one yet. I'll be ordering this again for sure! Delivered on time by the always pleasant boss...man, and the spicy poppadoms I tried for first time were awesome too may I add! Thankyou very much indeed.More

This is somewhere we used to go on a regular basis though less often since the pandemic As before the front of house service continues to be good the waiting time between courses is comfortable and the food served is hot just what we were...used to in the present economic climate we probably only go out once a month a treat as it were so we were annoyed that having asked for a small lemonade and coke we were each given a pint when queried we were told we only serve pints all the food was under seasoned and i do not like very spicy food and even I was shocked to find everything bland there is no excuse for this and I am now reluctant to return thereMore
Fantastic food, excellent service and cost effective menu. My godson and his partner joined me for Sunday dinner, Indian cuisine on a Sunday not everyone's cup of tea but, it proved to be an excellent decision. The food was simply FANTASTIC!! The service was equally...as fantastic as the food, wonderful presentation, good portion size and what was even more unbelievable, they do an 'all you can eat' deal on a Sunday. This has got to be the best Indian restaurant in Reading. I will definitely be returning, the food was amazing and what was really great was the huge vegetarian menu they provide. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️More
Salmon tikka starter, chicken karahi with rice - both excellent, one of the best curries I’ve had in ages! Will defo return 😋
Thank you very much

Best food I’ve eaten in a long time, will be coming back when I’m down this way again… I’ve tried many restaurants in the local area and this one is top of my list
Thank you very much
I am a regular at this restaurant Use Takeaway probably 6 times a month - sit in less frequently have sat in 3 times in last 2 months with friends and colleagues let me highlight a few points as I ate inside last Thursday and...tonight a Monday collected a takeaway firstly the staff are so polite friendly and professional -- you can feel it is a good atmosphere and a decent place to work which translates into a warm and genuine customer care --plus you do not get over hassled at the table if eating in -- which is a good balance from decent service to being shadowed The Owner Mush is a real pleasant decent fella from Bangladesh always friendly and as sometimes I Request my dishes to be changed to be more less spicey dependant which member of my family preferences with personal tastes The chef`s are great -- will again be flexible - they are genuine people and so friendly -- when you collect your takeaway -- you can see through the window how they are cooking fresh - with a clean kitchen The table staff or order takers are again so friendly new lad served us Thursday Sani very nice lad good service but not over bearing Luna from Nepal is fantastic such a great personality - with a good humour. sweet person -- always smiling genuinely - fills room with genuine warmth, FOOD - great value - good portion sizes -- very wide menu my favs All tandoori dishes I have eaten are superb -- spicey chicken Tikka my favorite My son and a local friend love the Onion Bhajees generous portions and always such a good texture - superb REGULAR DISHES I Recommend Chicken Jalfrezi or chicken tikka Jafrezi Mango Tikka Naga Chicken Whatever Chicken dish selected always great quality fresh chunky breast Madras Massala korma and passanda preferred by my youngest son`s Tonight I had a lamb chilli masala -- which my wife tried -- she not a Indian/south Asian food lover prefers Chinese -- but loved it so succulent no fat - great flavours So many of my friends on my recommendation have tried Jalpari and also say best in area I wrote this review tonight because as I run a business myself and good customer feedback and make or break a business -- This restaurant and takeaway deserves its growing reputation as best in Area I have eaten - Indian/Bangladeshi food regularly for over 20 years working mainly in London with several Indian Friends Definitely worth a visit - takeaway or sit in Russell Local ResidentMore

A very small, pokey establishment in a drab shopping parade in Woodley. Only a few tables in the restaurant. We went there Sunday lunchtime full of high expectations, hoping for a buffet, instead we were presented with an 'eat as much as you like' menu...- I'm always very suspicious of anything marked 'eat as much as you like' that isn't a buffet because this usually means waiting for ages for your food. Indeed, this is exactly what happened. The mixed starters were tiny - very ungenerous portions - and the chicken leg was more like a wing. The main course, for which we had to wait a good 45 minutes, was a few piece of meat swimming in a sea of sauce. I ordered the lamb vindaloo and my partner the chicken bhuna. The lamb had some gristle and the chicken was tough to eat. The rice portion was inadequate so we had to order extra, causing a further delay. The only good things in the meal were the chutney, poppadums and the garlic naan. Overall, poor value for the money paid. Not recommended, despite all the rather suspicious fanboy reviews!More
There's not much to add to the title! It would definitely be a 5 star apart from the temperature (of the restaurant, not the food!) I've been a few times and it's either too hot or too cold. Wear layers and you'll be fine. Can't...fault the service or food and -bonus-plenty of parking.More
Thank you very much
Came here based on reviews as our pre-COVID Indian wasn’t available any more. We came early on a Friday, online booking was easy, service was really nice, but the food was just fabulous, we were so full up and taste was great. Will certainly be...coming back.More
Thank you very much
Having only recently moved into the area this was our first visit to Jalpari in Woodley. We were looking for an Indian restaurant and choose the nearest. How lucky we were. The food is excellent. The poppadums, and onion bahjees are excellent as are all...the main courses we had. The staff are exceptionally friendly, efficient and helpful. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.More
