Returning to Chicago for a week, I was excited to to back to EJ's, which I had previously reviewed as outstanding although everything is $ 10 overpriced. I have to revise that statement. Everything is really good, but at least $ 15 overpriced! I had Chicken Vesuvio, which was really good, but I'd had it a few days earlier at... More

Six of us went to dinner. The drinks before dinner were full and well prepared. The dinner was steak around the whole table with all the trimmings. Everyone was delighted with their meals. A real dinning experience!!

This a little more upscale ( pricey) place that you go to for a treat. I am usually deciding what to get on the way there. Great Dover sole and great chicken with peppers. Steaks also very good but really many places make steak. Excellent friendly service. And...martinis.

EJ's Place is a wonderful "supper club" type restaurant for small or large groups, with a large fire place in the main room. As the portions are large, we often share an entrée which comes with a crisp house salad and bread (we enjoy the fish options here). The quality of the food is excellent, and the staff are friendly/superb!... More

We love this place! The staff is professional and friendly, the bartenders are all-pro, and the food is consistently terrific. A fireplace in one corner, one or two wall-mounted subtle tv's in case you need to check a score, and a menu that will take you back to your childhood (if you were born 50+ years ago). Great to eat... More

I am a local. I have read reviews regarding the prices. I will say that these days in this area you have Jameson's which is basically ponderosa. Ruths Chris in NBK, always good. Morton's in NBK, not what it used to be. The steaks are pricey but in line with other steaks of that quality around chicago. The steaks are... More

This place reminds me of the SmokeHouse in Burbank California next to the Warner Brother's lot. Except the SmokeHouse is better and the prices are way lower. What they have the same is a traditional approach to service, a building with a lot of character, valet parking only, and both are in a nondescript location. They both serve an upscale... More

3 of dined at EJ's on a Thursday night in November. First, when we made the reservation they said we had to take the 6:45 slot and that was all they had. When we arrived it was about 20% occupied and was about 30% occupied when we left at 9. The ribeye special was around $50 alacarte. Another friend ordered... More

Service was outstanding. Menu large enough satisfy all tastes. Portions are extremely large so bring a big appetite or plan on sharing.

We dined here with some friends and we will definitely be going back. A little pricey but totally worth it! The service was terrific and the food was prepared and cooked to perfection. You are best to go here when you hungry because the portions are huge! There is something on the menu for everyone. Unlike most higher end restaurants,... More
