This place is AWFUL for a casual night out. My partner and I stopped by for dinner after a day of travel. The experience was terrible from the very start. We walked in and stood for far too long while workers conversed amongst themselves. When...they finally got around to greeting us, we were led to our seat with a frown and an attitude. We then sat for at least 10min before the bartender came to take our order. Our waiter had the worst mood our entire stay. He forgot to bring items and I can’t remember him smiling even once. Then the food was absolutely terrible. We could literally taste the packaging it was wrapped in. This was my first taste of Chicago and it was terrible. This staff needs to be retrained or replaced quickly!More

We ordered spinach artichoke dip. The waiter, reading back our order said "Calamari." My husband corrected him and said, "No, spinach/artichoke dip" I hate seafood and joked, "If you bring calamari, it's going to go right back." Guess what we got? That's right. Calamari. So...odd. I've never ordered calamari in my life. They also forgot a knife for our bread, forgot to bring lemons for our water, and when I was asking about wine, I asked about the Shiraz, as he started to explain, "I said, oh, I remember, I don't like Shiraz." But the waiter insisted on telling me everything he know about Shiraz. Very odd.More

Average food. Average service. Overpriced menu. I would not recommend. There are plenty of better options. Conclusion: Skip it.

Good value decent meal. Attentive staff - worth a visit if you’re in the area (but I wouldn’t travel too far to get here!) the food was freshly prepared ribs ok but salad uninspiring.

After a long day of travel, what can be better than a great, tasty dinner in a high-quality restaurant? In a way, it was an early dinner, the spacious, warm, dim-lighted dining room was just getting busy with customers. We were seated in a nice,...comfortable booth right away. The restaurant had a classic look about it, it felt welcoming, the menu offered dozens of dishes, mainly of American cuisine. The server was attentive and easy-going, amiable and helpful. It turned out, that everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, served timely, and tasted delicious. I ordered Chicken Marsala with Mashed Potatoes, and my friend had Caesar Salad and Cheeseburger with Fries. Without overpraising too much, I still would like to say, that Chicken Marsala was one of the best I've ever had. My friend enjoyed the Cheeseburger very much and said, that Caesar Salad was absolutely delicious. I would like to specifically recognize and thank the restaurant's Chef and Cook for giving us an opportunity to enjoy such an excellent dinner! The restaurant is located on Skokie Blvd, on the premises of DoubleTree Hilton Hotel, a very spacious parking is available on site. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to Jameson's Charhouse!More

My friend and I often come here for lunch, so we know the place well. We came in on a recent Saturday afternoon. The dining room was not busy at all. We had BBQ wings for an appetizer, a chopped salad each with NY strip...added, and split a gold brick sundae for dessert. All the food was good, as expected, but for some reason, the service was agonizingly slow. We were not in a rush, and did not say anything of the kind to our waiter, but it seemed to take a very long time for our food to come out, which was surprising. At least he did check back with us to see if we needed anything after he had served the food. Nevertheless, it was a good lunch, and we will probably return.More

Jameson’s gets everything right! From the gracious wait staff to the classy atmosphere, all the little touches at this restaurant are perfect. But when a virus strikes, forcing diners out of dining rooms and into their homes, Jameson’s does delivery better than any other restaurant...I’ve yet encountered. What’s more, the delivery was free! I cannot overstate how delicious the Harvest Salad is. With strawberries, blueberries, cranberries, walnuts, blue cheese, strawberry vinaigrette, and some sumptuous fried calamari that I added on, this was easily one of the best salads I’ve ever had in my life! One thing you should know about Jameson’s is this: the servings are HUGE. One entree is enough for at least two people (in my opinion). Especially when most main courses come with a soup and salad, you will have more than enough to have a leftover meal the next day. The potato skins are addicting. The fries are massive swaths of chopped potato...only slightly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The burgers are quite savory, filling, and always cooked just right. If you’re in the mood for a very special meal with reasonable prices, there are few better places in existence anywhere that do it better than Jameson’s. Thanks to the chef for a meal I won’t soon forget.More

Jameson's Charhouse in Skokie, part of an Illinois chain, is a laid-back, unpretentious American steakhouse restaurant serving a wide range of excellent meats, steaks and burgers being the main specialties. Service is quick and relaxed; a full meal, including soup (especially the onion soup crowned...by a thick and rich layer of melted cheese), salad, bread and an entree is very reasonably priced, especially for a Chicago suburb. Portions are generous and cocktails are also attractively priced. The atmosphere does not match the likes of Morton's or Ruth Christie's, but the value offered and the excellent food quality found at Jameson's are certainly great selling points. This restaurant deserves your patronage.More

You usually don't expect a retaurant in a suburban hotel to be very good, but this one is. My wife has had lunch here several times and likes it so well that she made a dinner reservation for us and another couple. We all praised...what we ordered. I had the calves liver, which included both salad and soup. Those who ordered the onion soup found it to be quite good, but, as usual, a bit hard to work through.More

A blizzard raged on outside the night I first came to Jameson’s. But the French onion soup inside the classy, inviting dining room of the restaurant was more than enough to warm me up. The fare here is old-school, perfectly executed American comfort food. I...cannot recommend it enough! Why drive all the way down to a Chicago steakhouse when you can have food this exceptional on Skokie Boulevard? The potato skins are perfectly crispy (though some of the bacon was overcooked). For en entree I got the wedge salad with calamari. It was huge, beautiful, and oh so delicious! Truly, I was wowed! The prices here are reasonable. The staff is friendly. The atmosphere feels fancy but comfortable, suggestive of a celebratory, special occasion meal. Thank you to the chef and staff for an incredible evening.More
