This place almost makes Skokie destination point! You'll come for the food and you'll stay for the drinks! Lovely atmosphere.

We finally got a false positive from TA, so agreed my son and I. The dishes we had were poorly seasoned, the scallops had no seasoning at all. The squash? Meh, not worth eating when you consider you're taking on calories. The menu! It's a joke. It's 80% drinks and a few desserts, the rest food so the choices are... More

Libertad offers some unusual fare in a welcoming environment. The strange door at the entrance, colorful artwork and recessed lighting are inviting. The music on the sound system was not exactly what you'd hear on Oaxaca (Cure, Psychedelic Furs), but was fine anyhow. The "Coliflor Kale" salad with queso fresco & nuts was great. And I loved my scallops in... More

This small placer check's all the boxes when looking for a great neighborhood place - great food, creative drinks, excellent service and a nice place. We started with Cangrejo pan-seared lump crab cake, papaya-jicama relish, jalapeño aioli, balsamic reduction perfect for two to share, flavors are outstanding can't miss. Next we had the Pollo chicken mixiote, mustard greens, grilled pineapple, guajillo salsa... More

Kudos to the chef. Very appealing and tasty food. Drinks were good too. Outdoor patio seating available in summer.

My husband and I went to Libertad for dinner Saturday night. I did make a reservation for the porch and was relegated to a 5:30 seating - and it was already getting crowded. The cocktails were very good, different and well crafted. We had the squash with mushroom risotto which was good, but not $17 good! The seared ahi was... More

Libertad was recommended by our friends. We made reservation over the Internet & were friendly reminded via e-mail the day before. Friendly, quiet romantic place. Food is good with reasonable prices. You have to go & have a nice evening!

Did not expect to find a trendy, modern restaurant in downtown Skokie. But it was. Street parking easy; not much else happening in downtown on a Friday night. The dining room is small but they also have a nice rear outdoor patio. It is a share/plate style meal (recommended). They have 12 'entrees'. Within our group of 8, we tried... More

The menu is quite varied with meat or seafood dishes. The style is small plates to share. The octopus is great.
