I’ve been wanting to try Bisi’s Nigerian cuisine for ages and finally got around to it last Saturday evening! I ordered about $133 for carry out (the restaurant isn’t currently doing dine-in); I added a 50% tip. My order consisted of the following: Oxtail Pepper soup, Suya (skirt steak skewers), Jollof Rice with goat meat, Asun & Rice (spicy goat meat dish), Ayamashe (hot & green peppers with herbs dish), and Chopped Okra Soup (the restaurant’s owner, Tony, enhanced this dish - which I thought was GREAT - by adding tripe and crispy beef skin to it)! Overall, I thoroughly LOVED all the food I ordered; it was all very fresh, hearty and flavorful! Tony even gave me a big cold refreshing bottle of palm juice to drink with my meal)! The spicy dishes all had just the right amount of fire to them and didn’t overpower the flavor. Plus, my order only took about 30 minutes to prepare! (I waited outside in my truck for my order, which Tony kindly brought out to me—such quick and professional service!) I think I ate even better food than what Anthony Bourdain had when he visited Nigeria in 2017 for his Parts Unknown TV series! I think that once the restaurant is able to offer the dine-in option, I will definitely come in for that; the inside was clean and had elegant dining tables, chairs and booths—so I could picture a nice upscale dining experience to come! I definitely plan on coming back since there are a lot more items on the large and exotic menu I’m still dying to try!

The restaurant is located in a strip mall and is a nice size. The owner was our server and he was very hospitable. We ordered: Tusker Kenyan beer Jollof rice with goat Oxtail pepper soup appetizer (tender) Ayamashe Rustenberg Sauvignon blanc I really enjoyed the Kenyan beer and the glass of wine from South Africa. Although it was a little bit of a wait for the food, it was worth it. We found the food to be very flavorful and spicy exactly how we liked it. The only drawback was the small portions of meat with the entree. Other than that everything was good!

My son took me to dinner as part of my Mother's Day gift. The location was good for parking and easy to get to. The service was great and the waiter couldn't have been better. The decor was lovely and a made me feel like we were in a nice restaurant in Africa. The food was VERY different! The goat was very tasty as was the plantain. The yams, both white and yellow were great. A lot of the stuff was food that we had never had before. Some of the food was a bit more spicy than we are used to. Next time we will take more notice if the description says its spice level. I would love to come back and try some of the many other dishes that looked interesting but you can only try so much at one time. As it was we brought a lot home for the next day. We will return for another adventurous and relaxing meal.

I had to try Bisi Restaurant because I like African dishes. I have to say I didn't know this place was relatively close by and it has been here for six years, per the owner. I had Egusi Spinach Soup which is not really a soup but a mixture of spinach, ground melon seeds, tripe, turkey, and spices. I also had goat with it. The meal also came with a serving of fufu. I loved every morsel. Tasty, not too spicy, fresh, delectable. My daughter had a dish with fried plantains which were probably the best plantains I've ever had. Egusi is the national dish of Nigeria. It's also very healthy, comprised of spinach and ground melon seeds. Goat is the most eaten meat in the world, although not so in the US. Fufu is made from casava root which when ground is called garri. It's a staple of many West African countries. The place was very clean and nicely decorated with some awesome music playing ever so nicely in the background. I'm very happy I came across this place and get to eat Nigerian food without having to go into Chicago. I will be back.

We went on a Thursday night and the place was empty. I believe there were several to-go orders while we were there though. The owner served us promptly and explained the dishes well. This was our first experience with Nigerian food and I will definitely go again.

Everytime we go, we get the goat pepper soup... the depth of flavor is astounding. It is almost a clear broth, but your mouth will swoon. So delicious. Most dishes we've tried are on the spicy side, but we like strong spices. You can temper the heat with their pounded yam. We have tried all the meats... you can't go wrong with any of them. The greens are also a favorite, so be sure to order it with at least one of your dishes. Jollof rice is also a great, satisfying choice. The decor is elegantly simple. The service is on point. Often when we visit, large families are there, in traditional dress which adds to the ambience. It feels worlds away from the burbs. Enjoy!

I was visiting from out of town and was looking for some Nigerian food. Chose this place based on the rating. Although, when we arrived the place was not packed service was slow. The waiter was almost rude if not condescending when questions were asked about certain dishes. We did not mind assuming that the food might be made to order; however, the food arrived cold and even after requesting one of the dishes to be warmed still was not satisfactory so we ended up packing it up back to the hotel where it was warmed in the microwave to a suitable eating temperature. The taste of the food was good. If we would have ordered this for take out and skipped the dinner service it would've gotten 5 stars. I ordered gizzard and plantain, fried rice, jollof rice. Then I ordered fish stew to go.

My wife and I are considering a move to Africa. Before we do, we've got to try some local cuisine. Our hopes were finding a restaurant that specialized in East Africa cuisine. Instead, we found Bisi Restaurant. This was a wonderful surprise. They specialize is Nigerian cooking. It. Is. Delicious. We ordered the Moi Moi, Beef Kebab, and Spicy Goat Soup for appetizer. The kebab is spicy. The goat soup is on fire (in a good way). No joke. They're hot. If you like spice, you'll like the soup. The goat was tender and some of the best I've had. My wife and I both ordered spicy dishes for our entrees. I ordered the Ayamashe. Again, spicy spicy spicy, but great. Could not stop eating until my head was sweating and my eyes were watering. My wife ordered the "beans" (that's what it's called). Beans were very smoky. She added the spicy sauce (ok, we're sadists). Hot as well though not as hot as mine dish. All the food is great. The prices are even better. Nothing more than $12. Good portions. Nice place. I hope they continue to be successful.

One of my family's favorite restaurants in the area. The owner is so friendly- we love talking to him and he'll explain what the different dishes are. Nigerian food is very good. You have to keep an open mind if you've never had it before, but very tasty. The beef kabob appetizer is awesome, if you like a little spice. We love the beans and the Efo Riro, and anything with goat and plantains. The sauce the goat is in is so flavorful and works really well with the beans. Fufu is an interesting item- a pounded yam that doesn't taste like too much, but it's not really supposed to- it's more a traditional part of a dish that adds substance. Moi-moi- a bean cake- is unique too because of its semi-gelatinous texture, but fun to order if you're adventurous. All in all, if you want a dining experience to try a new cuisine for a great price, I highly recommend Bisi.

I sat at the bar the other day for lunch, I noticed that they have bottles of palm wine as well as Nigerian & Ghanaian bitters. Didn't partake as I have work to do today. Started with suya, a spicy kabob of marinated skirt steak, unfortunately mine wasn't very juicy, just gray. Had an ok flavor, likely would have been delicious if grilled. For entree, I had the Ayamashe (blend of green bell pepper with herbs/spices), served with goat over white rice and a side of plantains. The Ayamashe was very singular in flavor, a good flavor but singular, I was hoping for more nuance. Promising menu, I'll be back to try other items for sure.

I was in town from Austin where we have some fantastic restaurants. Bisi could easily compete with the very best. As a party of three, we got three different apps and three different entrees and all were amazing. Highlights: spicy goat soup, moi moi, gizzards and plantains (I hated gizzards my whole life until I tried this dish, and I would order it again in a heartbeat). My friends got a rice dish and the fufu dish, and both were great, but I think mine was the best -- honey beans with plantains and a side of the best goat I've ever tasted. I got the spicy sauce with it and it had a really deep smokiness to it. I can't wait to visit these friends again and go back to Bisi! And the gentleman running the place was so nice and informative -- he answered all our questions and helped guide our decisions on what to order. I'd give it ten stars if I could!!

We had never had African food before and went to this restaurant due to its rating and my son's school project. I was not expecting the meal anything amazing. IT WAS FANTASTIC. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The host, Anthony, could not be more accommodating. I would highly recommend going for lunch or dinner. We will certainly go again.
