I heard about the Easter meal special that we could order to be picked up on Easter. $65 for two people, Many choices but we chose the Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, gravy, salad, rolls, cranberry sauce and a tiny key lime torte. It was not only delicious but very generous just like our experiences in their wonderful restaurant. 5 stars for making the most out of our Quarantine Easter experience. Even though we weren't able to celebrate with our extended family, it made the day special for both of us.

Easter should be shared with family, friends, and good food. Being able to at least provide you with delicious food and dessert, was our pleasure. We hope that next year you will be able to enjoy the holiday with your extended family.

My husband and I were in town preparing for my son's event the next day. I had printed the menu from here in advance, and we were looking forward to eating here, since we hadn't had saganaki since we were dating back in the '80s! So it turned into kind of an anniversary meal, and although we didn't have reservations, we were seated immediately at a booth, which was nice. We started with the Flaming Saganaki ($10.99)(which the friendly waiter Sal told us is better when spread on the warm, delicious bread they provide). Hubby had the Oysters Rockefeller as his appetizer, but the last steakhouse we visited I ordered those and was disappointed, so I was shocked when these were everything I remembered - warm and savory, with delicious spinach and bacon. YUM. For dinner, I wanted the prime rib, but my husband thought it would be sweet to have the super large (32 oz.?) ribeye for two, so that's what we had. That was around $45 (?), but the quality of the meat was very high. We ended up taking some home, too. Hubby doesn't eat mushrooms (which came atop the steak), so I ate those, and my side was another delicious treat - a mashed potato dish with sour cream and chives. I couldn't finish it all, so took it home for the next day. Kev had a romaine salad, which he also said was very good, and his side was green beans, which he liked. We were too full for dessert, but I wish we lived closer so we could come back again and try some of their other delights. The whole meal for the 2 of us was under $150, but the quality of the food was very high, and the service was amazing. Somewhere in there, I also had a clam chowder, since we had just come from a vacation on the east coast, and that was extremely tasty as well. I had a soft drink and my husband had a beer. This is an indulgence, but if you're going out for a special occasion (or simply love good food), I would strongly recommend coming here. Things were quiet around 5, but picked up by the time we left at 6:30. Ask for Sal! You won't go wrong with the service, either.

Even though we are on lockdown, St. Charles place saved the day for my wife’s 60th birthday dinner. It’s her favorite restaurant. I was a bit worried about Curbside pickup for such an important meal celebration, but everything was cooked to perfection and as delicious as if we sat down inside. Special thanks to the staff and chefs for making my wife’s birthday dinner so special and for at least a few hours for her to forget about the Covid 19 pandemic.

We had gone here for a friends birthday with about 8 people and the atmosphere was nice and something different and the owner also greeted you at the door as well as came to each table which was very nice. Our waiter though treated us as if we were waisting his time. Our food was also very cold. I had a soup that was on special, and it was as cold as it came from a refrigerator. The birthday girls dinner was forgotten about, so we all sat their with our Main course in front of us for about 15 min before eating so she could get her meal first. The food was on the pricey side considering the service we received. Our waiters mask was also mesh, which I feel defeats the purpose of a mask during COVID times.

As a steakhouse, the quality of your food and service should be second to none -- this should especially be the case for a birthday dinner. I'm truly saddened we weren't able to make this day as special as I know we can, and I'll look into what caused a delay with her meal. We'd love the chance to treat you to a five-star experience.
Come back soon,

After reading so many positive reviews we were so looking forward to their "prime rib special for 2" carry out which consisted of 2 pieces of prime rib, 2 potato, 2 salad, and dinner rolls. One of the prime rib was excellent but the other was mostly fat so there was not much left of meat. Now we understand that prime rib is not the leanest of meat and tends to be fatty but this piece was too fatty. The potatoes were tasty but the salads were terrible, mostly brown lettuce (not fresh), 1 grape tomato and 1 cucumber slice. We could not eat them. The dinner rolls were fresh and tasty. We had high expectations for this restaurant but I doubt we will return.

Being able to get prime rib for yourself and a loved one is definitely something to look forward to. Our team knows to keep an eye on the cuts of meat we're serving, so both of yours should have been excellent. Knowing how good our food can be, I hope you'll give us a second chance at providing a complete meal.
See you then,

What a great place to get a hunk of meat and more! Large inside with an eclectic interior. Started the night with a Duck Liver Pate which was scrumptious. Nice variety of accoutrements with the Pate as well and ample toasted bread pieces. Next up a delicious homemade chicken noodle soup. Onto a classic wedge salad with plenty of blue cheese dressing. The service from the bar was lickity split with ample pours/mixes. Our server Dan was very attentive and paced our meal as requested. For dinner we had the bone in ribeye for two. Perfectly cooked with plenty of mushrooms and a nice baked potato and we added asparagus which was grilled to perfection. We had the world's smallest mouse for dessert just because(too filled). Plenty to take home. This is the place to go for steak lovers and I'm sure all the fare is just as fine as we had. No frills, just good old fashioned eats!!!

As we wrote on your Yelp review, being the place to go for steak lovers is an honor. In our years of operation, we've learned that it's best to leave the frills at home -- since customers come here for the food, our focus is on the craft of cooking high-quality dishes. I hope you'll be joining us again soon so we can treat you to a meal just as enjoyable as this one was.

After an exhausting day in wind, ice, and snow, we recalled passing this place a couple of times. To say we were not familiar with the area is an understatement. We found out we'd picked the right place and time to arrive before the crowd. Definitely a place where there are "regulars" from the local scene. The bar looked inviting but we came in to dine and head back to our hotel and flop.. It felt as though we'd stepped into a time machine in the nicest way. Atmospheric low lighting and background music you don't have to shout above, helped to ease us into a zone of calm. Those coming to dine were a mix of ages, couples, families, singles. The menu, being a steakhouse, had good choices for the dedicated meat eaters. Though not a regular red meat eater myself, I did opt for the filet mignon. My husband chose the prime rib. Both delicious! The freshly baked rolls, Caesar salads, baked potatoes, were too. This was a very satisfying experience. Various menu choices for seafood lovers and even a vegetarian dish are among the offerings. It doesn't come cheap and yet, when you compare the tab with what you get here it's still a lot less than therapy. I didn't want to say "no" to dessert but was too full to have one. Next time in St. Charles, I'll leave room for one of the desserts or take the advice to "eat dessert first."

I planned to take one of my grandsons for dinner to celebrate his birthday. Being he a meat lover I decided on St. Charles Place. As usual two more grandsons came; three were left behind -their loss-.
They were all very impressed with the place. From the architectural design to the decoration, it is a very nice place. And if we talk about the food, well, it is superb. Two guys decided to have Roast Prime Rib. They wanted to order the 22 oz. but I talked them for the 16oz. The other one had Filet Mignon and stuffed srimps. I had Lamb chops.
All the food was perfect. The 16 oz.is a delicious, saucy, tender, big cut; the filet mignon was cooked to perfection with real big shrimps. My lamb chops could not have been better. Because I am grandpa I got to taste everything.
If you are in the area, do not miss it. To eat at St. Charles Place is a must.

The owner used to greet you when you walked in and made you feel special, now he sits there and acts like he is doing you a favor and his personality and laughter are gone. The service is hit/miss depending on your server. For us it was just OK, but the salad and soup that came with the expensive steak and seafood meals were accidentally forgotten but were provided later upon our request. The place is always busy, but it is regulars that keep it alive. They really don't care about the people like us who have lived here 30 years and who frequent it once or twice a year. We used to rate it a solid 8, now it is only a 6, and that is on a good day.

Great food! This was the best Prime Rib we've in more than 20 years! The rest of the meal was also very good. Prices not ridiculously high. Nice & quiet (we ate early, mid-week). Cozy booth. Very good service. I ordered a Key Lime pie dessert to take home. When I was ready to eat it, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was a whole tart beautifully garnished with fresh berries and it was delicious! (you could tell it was made in-house). Quirky, eclectic, but still warm & inviting decor. Lots of fun art on the walls.
Why 4 stars instead of 5? A couple things we feel need mentioning. The booth seats springs are broken down and kind of uncomfortable (I felt like I needed a booster seat!) and my Chopin Vodka Martini was very watered down. Other than those things, everything else including the staff were very nice. We will definitely be returning soon!

I’ve been here at least 30x and have never had a bad experience. Steaks and prime rib are great and the seafood fantastic!!! I took my new girlfriend here for her birthday and she was very impressed with the food, service and atmosphere. It’s a great value because they include the salad and sides with the dinner vs. ala carte for everything. If you’re considering Foxfire in Geneva I highly recommend this place instead. And be sure to order the carrot cake he imports from Vermont-it’s the best dessert I’ve ever had!!!

Looking forward to treating you to some more prime rib the next time you feel like treating yourself.

This is by far the best steakhouse in the Chicagoland area!
We have been there over 30 times in the past 5-6 years, for both business and pleasure. We have always had a great experience. They even saved our Thanksgiving one year when my brother set the turkey on fire on his grill!
Great service, great food, great environment! I half expect Dean Martin and the rest of the Rat Pack to be hanging out at the bar! Retro, but still elegant at the same time.
Great wine list also!
Not the cheapest game in town. However, they are not overpriced like some of the big chains we hear so much about... A fair price for an excellent experience!
Try the Saganaki appetizer - Oompa!
I highly recommend this place!

We had a 5 star experience here with great food. The flaming duck and the rack of lamb were great. I plan o trying the prime rib next since I heard that was one of their signature meals. I think the duck rates right up there. The interior decorating is a little different. The music is also different. I will let the customer judge that since the food and service definitely rates pretty high here. I hope my photo helps give you a first impression.

This is our 3rd time here and it did not disappoint. I love the old school vibe supper club. It is a big restaurant with many places to sit. We love the main room with the fireplace. Service is excellent and so is the food. We ordered calamari and what a delight. Lightly battered and not over cooked, just rings no tentacles. Warm bread and butter service is a treat. Steaks are as expected in a steakhouse, perfectly medium rare as ordered and I love the beurre blanc lemon chicken. Very plentiful and a lot of green beans, maybe 10 oz that many! The key lime pie is the best in the area and I have had many slices but SCP has the best! Highly recommend and we will be back soon!

OMG had another fantastic meal here. I’ve been here about 20x and never had a bad meal or service. The steak au polve is incredible and so is the prime rib. The seafood is very fresh tasting too. We feasted on the seafood tower. My new girlfriend has never been here before and was extremely impressed with everything. While at first glance it may appear expensive, keep in mind that the salad and sides are included-not extra. Great value and unique atmosphere.
