This restaurant is always a great place for lunch in the heart of St. Charles. The food is made from scratch and you will never be disappointed. Popular place so there is usually a wait. A true hidden jem!

The atmosphere was an intimate cafe in a bookstore. It was very nice, but that may be a problem for a large group because there isn't a lot of wiggle room. The food was excellent and we got to look at books while we waited for our table. Yes

We love going here for their wonderful lunches! It's a quaint restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Love their unique sandwiches and the desserts are fantastic! Friendly and helpful waitstaff. The only thing we have ever had an issue with is the loudness of the restaurant. It's a popular cafe in St Charles so get there early if you need more... More

I read about the Town House Books and Café all the time, but today my wife and I did something different: We went to the Café for lunch (go early, the line formed quickly today, and I bet that's pretty common) and then shopping among the hordes of books crammed into every corner possible. Such fun. Great bookstore, great collection.... More

I love this place. The fresh quiches and soups are amazing and the sandwiches are delicious. It gets crowded but it is worth the wait.

Our family group of 5 adults had lunch here on a Saturday. We got there early since the place fills up fast. Service was great. Everyone enjoyed their lunches. Clam chowder was great. Pecan pie and lemon cake were both wonderful. It's a great place to eat in old St. Charles.

I dine at Townhouse books about twice yearly. It's really a very special and unique spot in St Charles serving breakfast and lunch. Come hungry and be prepared to wait for a table...worth the wait. I especially enjoy the homemade quiches and soups.
