Some of best Hummus I've ever had - their delicious platter includes kalamata olives, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers and super crunchy fresh bread - makes a perfect Summertime lunch! Their Apricot-Chicken salad on greens or as a sandwich is another all time favorite and really good homemade soup. Fresh made - truly something for everyone. They have a lovely secluded patio... I really enjoyed this quaint, literary cafe. Wonderful lunch. Had the Tuna-Herb sandwich. Touch of Dill put the sand which over the top.

I buy books there often. Once I found a book of Ambrose Bierce hiding in a corner. (This is something you could actually do.) When I brought the book to the front, the owner said, "Really? I'd forgotten we even had that book here. If must have been waiting for you." Of course, I brought that home with me and... More

Found reviews on the web so my wife and I had lunch at the Townhouse...located a block from downtown St. Charles in a historic old brick home...small dining room attached to a Mom and Pop bookstore...great lunch spot...sandwiches, soups, salads...great service, tasty, reasonable price...get a 'taste' of St. Charles and dine here!

This charming cafe/bookstore combo is a popular local destination. So if you want lunch with no waiting pop in by 11:30. If you do find you have to wait for your table, don't dally outdoors, browse the bookstore. An old house of many rooms, you'll find it is crowded but tastefully so ... chock full of books and cards. Be... More

Town house has been in Saint Charles for a very long time and a staple to our community. They serve home made food along with wine and everything is spectacular! I especially love their Tuna melt which is served open faced with Harvati cheese and terra chips. Their soups all made from scratch and the intimate atmosphere so charming. The... More

We stopped in for lunch and it was busy but they had two seats left at the bar which we were fine with. Our server was very friendly and the food came out quickly. The menu is a little on the smaller side as far as selection, however, the dishes are unique and flavorful. I had a half sandwich and... More
